Crossfrontier Audio are proud to announce the label debut of the delectable and trouble-causing duo of Hacker & Miethig, with the Sambal EP.  Finding a lease of life through their music, their journey so far has seen exquisite releases on the eye-catching Poesie Musik and the hallmark Save Us Records – so we jumped at the chance to welcome them to the CFA family.

Tightly woven from head to toe, Hacker & Miethig craft dark room music to lose yourself to, and the EP definitely doesn't shy away from the deep and lustrous sounds they've been tunnelling away in the studio creating just for you - giving us two original works: Sambal and Djahe. We've also got a special guest remixing the title track...

Take your pick from the trembling synths and hypnotic rhythm that Sambal roars in, or set the pace with the trippy vibes of Djahe - both of these have been making a lot of noise, absolutely killing it when brought into the mix. When you've listened to both, you'll understand why Hacker & Miethig are gaining a mischievous reputation across the dance-floors of the world, all the while having a good time with it. 
By now, if you haven't heard of Jonas Saalbach, what the hell have you been doing? His remix of Sambal is the catalyst to a raucous moment and you know it... from the second the punches come in, the crisp production on this is magic. Bring on the summer.

i’m finally happy to share The War Inside with the world for FREE DOWNLOAD. I wrote this track when i was fighting a state of complete emotional unrest due to some major upheavals in my life, which made me realise how fragile we really are as human beings. More often than not we create a prison of insecurities that hold us back from breaking out of our self-created prisons. I’m sure everyone at some point goes through similar stuff so I hope the track strikes a chord with you too.

Calm Chor - The War Inside(0riginal Mix)

Mark Reeve makes his welcome return to the Drumcode fold with a powerful three-tracker ‘Far Away’.

In recent years Mark Reeve has become a pivotal member of the Drumcode crew. His 2015 EP ‘Run Back’ was a standout, before he backed it up strongly with ‘Nine of You’, his collaboration with Adam Beyer that featured on A-Sides Vol.5, ensuring his place in the hearts of DC fans. As further evidence of his importance to the collective, Beyer has selected him to suit up for the inaugural Drumcode Festival happening this August in association with Awakenings. 

Harking back to formative times in the ‘90s when he’d frequent Sven Väth’s legendary Omen in Frankfurt, the title track to Reeve’s ‘Far Away’ is a timeless beauty, driven by a celestial melody line and emotive bass notes that lobs it into the kind of laser-kissed territory that would make even the most jaded of raves throw their arms skyward. ‘Fragile’ follows, a classy bass-driven cut that makes its mark with deep subterranean stabs and punchy kicks. Rounding out the EP is ‘Redemption’ a tougher, heads-down techno workout imbued with plenty of energy thanks to a crafty bass melody that runs throughout.

From the depths of the Brazilian electronic music scene – specifically São Paulo – emerges a frank and authentic artist. The integrity and certainty when throwing down Victor Ruiz beats makes it easy to know that he’s landed in a DJ booth. They say that his techno sound has finally found it’s more seductive side. “From Brazil with love” read the title of that interview where he caught the attention with his qualities always supporting super fresh sounds, with fewer grooves. From then on he has been compared to artists like Maceo Plex. Over time Victor Ruiz has grown, not only his production skills but also in his sets, a breath of fresh air to the listener.

When he first stepped into a recording studio his first steps were to reinterpret his roots in a more contemporary way. A futuristic tone but at the same time racial, exciting and danceable. In other words, his sound goes straight to your heart, your head and your feet (We need all of them to dance, right?). Thanks to these components over the years he’s been winning over huge swarms of followers. Loyal followers. You can also discover on his social media and exciting tours like his collaboration with visual artist Any Mello .The perfect pair to make us move while we enjoy a visual trip.

If we start talking about his music releases we can highlight his solo works “Clutch” (Octopus), “Nevermind & Red Lights” (Senso Sounds), “Voyage” (Suara), “Brujeria” (Elevate),“Rollercoaster” and “Thunderstorm” both published on Yoshitoshi recordings, “Lucky Strike / Easy Riders” (Herzblut), “Interestellar” (Sprout Music), the EP “Orion/Speed” with K.A.L.IL. or also the EP “Draco/Serpens”, both on Electric Ballroom. Don’t forget about “The Runner” with Christian Smith on Tronic imprint; “Soul Seek” (Sprout), “Midnight Sun” (Heinz) or “Music”, “In between”, “Arise” with D-Nox & Beckers on Sudbeat Music. One of his first ever major bombs was “I look into you”, edited on Sprout Music, a massive hit on the same level as “Medusa Smile” from Konrad Black.

Much closer is this other massive bomb: his vivid tribute for the sadly disappeared Robert Miles, and his of all time classic “Children”. A late night heady techno track, set to trip you out.

His work as an official remixer is also very admirable. MOBY –what a pack he prepared for Suara remixing classics as “Natural Blues” or “Go”–, Oliver Huntemann, Stephan Bodzin , Hatzler, Thomas Schumacher, Olivier Giacomotto, Luzon…Just a few who have required his services. With Oliver Huntemann, the highly respected techno-gentleman from Hamburg, the way they got in touch was very curious, Victor made a bootleg for Oliver’s track “Magnet” a few years ago and the speculation created on social media was insane. Only on Soundcloud the bootleg had more than 240 thousand listens. In fact Senso Sounds –The label Oliver is the owner of- is without a doubt one of Victors new homes. Speaking of homes, Germany is the country that has adopted him as one of their own.

It gives us enormous pleasure here at Selador Towers to see the boss (or Sir Steven of Parry as he insists we address him) scaling unprecedented heights with his recent studio output. The frequency, consistency and quality of his productions has grown exponentially over the last couple of years and we believe he's only just getting into his stride. 

Now notching up his 3rd full release on the label, not to mention a selection of outstanding remixes for the likes of Wally Lopez and Rob Hes, his new outing, the deliciously titled Squidfist EP is exactly the kind of thing that gets us out of bed in a morning. 

A powerhouse of textbook electronic goodness that draws on over 20 years of dance floor experience and expertise, this one goes straight for the jugular and never lets up. With a nod and a wink and a doff of the cap to Lil Louis’ perennial ‘French Kiss’, it’s bona fide stomper. 

First out of the traps on remix duty, we are honoured to have Mr Charles Webster join our extended family. Something of a God around these parts, his name and pedigree is an assurance of class and quality and here is no exception. Deep, dark and deadly. 

Next we welcome back James Dutton, aka Athea, whose currency has continued to rise since his Selador debut early last year with his lauded remix for Just Her. Here he opts for a more stripped back approach, a techy roller that glides and grooves in an effortlessly chic manner.  

And finally, the proverbial cherry on top comes courtesy of blossoming Manchester duo, OC & Verde who get to grips with Steve's previous Selador release, '303 V'. A firm favourite of John Digweed's who practically wore his copy out such was the extent of his support, this new version is equally potent. Solid peak time roof raising action.

DJ/Producer, live performer and host of successful event series in Paris, Sander (@Im-Sander) is one artist that has dedicated his whole life to music. Through previous tunes, the French producer has proven his outstanding melody-writing skills. For his Crossings debut, Sander intelligently combines simple melodies with powerful grooves in a mind-blowing gem named “Floraison”, released on the first volume of the VA series “Reflection”.

Bringing together like-minded music lovers and artists was pivotal in Crossings' past and is now becoming a direction for the London based label. “Reflection Vol. 1” puts a spotlight on two unique but like-minded artists: Sander and Vander (@Vander_music), respectively the residents of Horde in Paris and the Gardens of Babylon in Amsterdam.

An atypical label, Crossings gathers through releases, events and podcast series local heroes from around the globe, such as the residents of Boneca and Unleash in London, The Gardens of Babylon in Amsterdam, Klassified in the French Riviera, Überhaus/The Gärten in Beirut, Horde in Paris and HYPE in Tunisia. It has been thought as a platform for respective underground communities to interact and grow.

Since its inception, the label has been striving to promote and focus on talents such as Parallells, Joep Mencke, Bondarev and Sam Shure Mencke who made the label unique with its distinctive melodic signature.

Paul Hazendonk returns on his own Manual Music imprint with the final part of his Signature Series trilogy. Yet again presenting two brand new originals that cross over between various genres within the melodic electronic music spectrum.

First up it's 'Unagi', a massive and intense peak time dance floor bomb that will leave you with the feeling that you've been slapped in the face... in a good way! Paul's trademark arps build up the tension towards a roaring ravey bassline only to revert back to emo mode during the beautiful piano break until it's all systems go again. Proper madness this one!

The accompanying piece 'X Is Forever' is a more heady and intelligent piece. Starting out with a minimalistic arrangement and wobbly bassline, a mysterious vocal gets introduced early on which turns out to be the trademark element of this song. Of course the ever present arps make their introduction as the track gently builds on towards it's climax. A lovely piece of work to end the Signature Series trilogy!
