☄ In May, longtime Vief collaborator halle o’malley got in touch with an idea. She’d come across the Instagram of a 17-year old Palestinian musician called Samih, whose life has been torn apart as a result of Israel's recent onslaught on the Gaza strip. Their home was destroyed, Samih and his family were forced to flee to a refugee camp in Rafah. During their displacement, Samih has gone viral posting videos of himself singing and playing a borrowed oud.
 
☄ Having spoken to Samih, Halle planned to sample one of these videos and donate the proceeds from the sales of the track to a gofundme set up for Samih’s family. She approached the label with the idea of turning this project into a compilation akin to previous Vief fundraiser releases.
 
Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N, who also runs @overmybodytw is one of our favorite producers. Check out this hybrid percussive club banger.
