The second katharsis release of the year is the EP “Chasms Where Streams Fall And Disperse” by Italian artist POL100, coming out on February 28th. On its five tracks, POL100 takes you on a deep reflective journey through his meditative sound design, by combining uncanny airy pads with stuttering effects and delicate synth melodies.

With each track named after a mineral, the artist aims to interpret how the flow of water sliding through the rocky veins of the earth creates unique textural objects. The technological nature of our planet is embodied by digital and organic ambiances throughout the EP. This very ambient sound expression is novel to the artist, whose latest release was the intense clubby EP “Sepsis” on Bound Centre in September 2020.

An ode to failure!

Departing from the image of the genius artists, the Hit&Miss compilation wants to show the hidden parts of creation, by embracing missteps and abandonment as a natural part of any artistic journey. 

Open to all members of the Global URL Nation, it proposed a new home for projects that couldn't find a place to exist otherwise, due to artistic (self-)exigency, technical problems, bad timing or any other reason often unknown to the general public. 

With more than 20 artists from a broad range of styles, experience and locations, it gathers unfinished projects such as aborted WIP, forgotten drafts, lost files, unconvincing demos, compulsive emotional bursts or technical experimentations. 

With all its flaws and raw cuts, Hit&Miss asserts the strength of trial and error, and cherishes the impossibility to develop an idea into a finished object as a learning process towards one's growth.

DIGITONICA — audiovisual artist, sound designer, singer, and electronic composer. Having worked in the past with a variety of genres, at the moment is engaged in post-electronics, post-internet, post-club, meta-punk, deconstructed music with an interweaving of academic and pop tradition and a lot of voice manipulation like alien processing. The music has a psychedelic and surrealistic tone, like a living voice coming from the digital environment. Also creates psychedelic 3D paintings and digital clothes.
