This track really made me smile. :) Love the tune, the minimal synth feel & the vocals.

The vocal prbbly lacks in reverb and echoes in between phrases. There some verb at some places, but at some places vocal feels dry and almost karaoke.

Great contrast between the voice and music, all of which makes this work so well. A really well crafted pop track.

Stranded started out on the train. Since I currently take public transport everywhere, it takes a lot of time to go anywhere and I was feeling frustrated and thinking to myself, "I spend all my time on the train going nowhere and back again..." The songwriter in me screamed that it was a line worthy of being in a song, so I pulled out my phone and started taking notes on my feelings as well as the cityscape around me. In order to better convey the emotions of despair and dejection, I gradually incorporated the story of searching for someone/something long lost; be it a loved one, or a previous dream/ambition, or even a lost feeling like hope. At the time, I was also listening to songs about heartbreak (duh?!), and other songs about the lingering feelings of love and loneliness after someone leaves, which possibly shaped the song subconsciously. Most of these tracks were either soulful acoustic ballads like Arcade (Duncan Lawrence) and Always Remember Us This Way (Lady Gaga), or electropop, mellow yet danceable, like Ghost (Biebs) and You Broke Me First (Tate McRae). In terms of style, I wanted something that fell under my overarching genre of pop, and would be boppy but laced with a hint of melancholy. The sound choices were dictated by the intention to convey feelings of coldness, darkness, and emptiness.

Stranded

A singer-songwriter, actively composing and writing songs for around two years now. My sound pulls from pop influences, both contemporary and retro, tied together by a signature style of songwriting.
