There are songs you write to feel something — and songs you write because you’re already feeling too much. PRESSED came from a place I don’t visit often in the daylight. It’s the part of me that remembers the power struggles in intimacy, the blurred lines between control and comfort. There were nights where I didn’t know if I was trying to connect or just trying not to fall apart. This track carries that tension.
Every distorted vocal line in here — “You play, or you get played,” — that was my reality at one point. The person I wanted most was also the person who made me question everything. I wasn't writing a club song. I was writing about the echo in my chest after I let someone in who only knew how to take.
