A taster of the new Radio Slave compilation ‘Venti’ also features before we revisit Speedy J under his Country & Western moniker from 1993, with ‘Reincarnation’ making a welcome appearance. Trotz katastrophaler Umstände und einer Lite-Version von FL Studio auf dem PC eines Kollegen zaubert uns Smokin’ Zaza mit “Project Z” wieder einen geisteskranken Track, der dir die Synapsen aus der Stirn zieht – nur um sie mit einer brutalen Kick direkt wieder zurückzuballern. Eingesperrt in die Zwangslage, nur Stock-Plugins nutzen zu können, ohne die Möglichkeit, zu speichern, und mit eingeschränkten Funktionen, haben die beiden im improvisierten Studio Magie erschaffen. Telefone klingeln wie verrückt, Faxgeräte senden Signale, die wie verzerrte Hi-Hats wirken, und die radioaktive Spannung baut sich auf, als würde der Beat in einem strahlenden Kontrollraum geboren. Dieser Sound schickt dich direkt auf die tanzende Atomrakete – der Bass kracht, als würden die Reaktoren gleich explodieren, während dein Kopf vom Beat radioaktiv verstrahlt wird. Ein Track, der dich trotz aller Widrigkeiten in die absolute Sound-Apokalypse schleudert!
