"Hello, friends! I was super happy to be asked to do this mix, as the Ukrainian scene and its people are very dear to my heart. Dima asked me for a mix to represent my take on the breakbeat sound as we enter into this new year. I've always felt that breaks can be a versatile and wide-reaching genre, and I’ve tried to explore some of that in this mix.

There are organic, percussive tracks, florida acid, electro and techno ingredients, some reggae, grime, and hip-hop elements, deep rollers, melancholic, melodic bangers, shroomy mind expanders, and plenty of rib cage rattling bass. Welcome back to the Wax Museum, an all vinyl homage to electronic music's past and present.

For episode 8 we will be taking a trip down memory lane to the late 90s and early 2000s nu skool/progressive breaks sound. Breakbeat has always been a personal favorite of mine and in my opinion, this era of the sound has yet to be matched. Tracks from Bushwacka!, Plump DJs, PMT, Stanton Warriors, Peace Division and many others.

I'm a big fan of music generally, and also making connections with people through music. My collection has grown over the years and is still growing weekly! It contains a bit of everything, mostly influenced by breakbeat and drum and bass although more recently house and tech house. I was and still am a big fan of breaks, especially tracks from the likes of Freeland, Atomic Hooligan, Freq Nasty, Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts etc but this list is definitely not exhaustive and I will listen to, and play anything within reason. Got to have an open mind! 

Things are a little quieter these days but I've spent many weekends lost in a field/club/house party somewhere!

Join me on Cutters Choice Radio for my Slam the Breaks on show to put a smile on your face! I play a good range of stuff and don’t focus on one particular style or genre. Just sit back, relax and make sure the volume’s turned up to 11!! You catch me on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 3pm to 5pm.

My dad was a manager of a nightclub when i was 7-9..and got me into electro,hip hop etc. Made my first track with pro tracker on the Atari ST back in 1991?...Been a Quality Assurance video games testerthrough most my jobs.Also helped out with games design and audio production. Formerly -polyx- (2000-2010), he has since risen from those ashes, 13 years later, as MadScientist 369.  This is an homage to the Godfather of our technology, Nikola Tesla.  For without Tesla, DJing may never have existed.  MadScientist 369 focuses on DJ mixes and finding new and old dance music.  Whether it be Break beats, Techno, screwed out DnB, or anything in between, the goal is to craft beautiful and driving dance mixes to elevate, motivate, and enlighten.

I experienced my first contact with Electronic music through a Happy-Hardcore-CD of my brother, which I came across by accident. I was fascinated by the speed and intensity of that genre. Through Sven Väth's "L'Esperanza" I got introducted to Trance and via Richie Hawtin's Remix of System 7's "Alpha Wave" to Techno. 1996 I had my early Club-/Rave experiences, which induced me to buy my first records. I started playing at private parties, till I eventually had my premiere rave gig in 1997. Together with my brother I'm also deejaying b2b (Da Brothers gonna work it out / Daniele d'Agnelli vs. Dyrtsta).

I always try not to submit myself to any stylistic boundaries. The audience always decides where the journey goes to.
