Right on man! This track is tight..drumming is on point, and guitar tone is outstanding. I dig the idea of just letting the track go where it wants..creativity wise. It makes for a very smooth almost hypnotic sort of vibe, and that IS art in music

I was asked by a music production company to had lyrics and vocal melody to an instrumental track that they sent me. Musically it was a little uninspiring but I enjoyed the challenge. 
So I did my part and spent time perfecting it and it was rejected by them saying they felt their instrumental wasn’t up to scratch and the vocal file was to hissy.
I spoke to Noobly about this and he said sent me the vocal file and I will build an instrument around it. 
He instantly loved the vocal melody and came up with this brilliant piece of work fitting the original vocal into it. 
This is another level of skills to be able to do this and he wasn’t interested in listening to the original version. 
Untold little secret a song about moments of relationships and how movie clips play out in your head. The over hanging tree still remains!

Some information about this track processing: it was processed with “ The Pulsar Echorec” VST, so it should sound more analog. the Echorec disk involving magnetic saturation and hysteresis…I wanted a warped warm sound so there will be areas on the track where there are dropouts coloring and artifacts. I love the way it adds grit musically. It’s basically an old fashion tape machine. In other word, it dirties up the track, and adds saturation and character…I love it!

Groove surfing is about pure art and expression.  A reminder of the reason I play to begin with...for the simple love of music in its infinite variations.  Aimless and a dance around the campfire. 

The whole thing recorded in a few hours, where most of the time was spent dialing in the tone, 10 minutes to figure what to do, record up to six passes, pick the best one and move on to the next instrument.  

Many years ago I was reading a modern music critique piece and the authors phrase " When artists make it about the art,  instead of money then it will be art."   So to the author whose name I can't remember with a quote I can't cite the source.  This one is for you!

Here is the jam session I ended up with.  You won't find perfection but hopefully something that makes you smile and say "that's cool man!"

Groove Surfing

Grand opus version of "Black Rain",  recorded in one take with just a couple of overdubs, this was originally written in 1990 for our band of the time  (also Black Rain)now given the updated Mental Straights treatment. This is a song about how we should be going forward but so often live in the past, without considering the future. Something funny in the tin. Some learnin' up to do , coz mother earth will bite back. Greetings to all, many thanks indeed to all our supporters, very much appreciated thankyou.!!! Captain Mental, Sgt. Im from Melbourne Australia, I have been playing guitar for many years now and played in two bands during the 80's & 90's (STOLEN CAR original) & (STORM cover),both bands never released any material. Since 2010 i have been writing songs and tunes and recording them in my music room (3rd Bedroom), i play Guitar, Bass, Keys, BFD2 Drums(programmed)and Vocals on all of my songs which i class as Demo's, I love all types of music but Hard Rock, Rock to Alternative appeals to me most.
