Exclusive: Lazaros - Manitari

Blithe spirit Lazaros invites electronic music enthusiasts and followers of the arts to the Space Opera, his first EP after Symphan on Sum Over Histories in 2018. The latest three tracker on Feines Tier, a Cologne-based label run by Philipp Fein, comes with two orginals, namely Manitari and Space Opera plus a remix for the latter by Permanent Vacation head-honcho Benjamin Fröhlich turning the original to an Acid-ish take. But it is Manitari, the Greek word for mushroom or shroom, that has a story to tell – musically and apart from it. It must have been something like three years ago, when Lazaros opened the Pandora's box, which is known to his friends as his hard disk or the place where he keeps countless unfinished tracks and ideas. Every once in a while the Rhinelander with Greek roots pays his hard disk a visit and sometimes finishes one of his ideas. After finishing Manitari, which did have a different working title at that time, he showed this hypnotic groover that effects the brain with every further chord and beat in its continuum, to Torture the Artist boss Holger Breuer, who urged him to release the track right away. However, this did not happen but in the course of the first and following chats about Manitari, Holger always referred to the track as the “Pilze“-tune – the German word for shroom - because of its impact on one's mind and sound-composition. Lazaros adapted the name and with small changes within the track in the end called it Manitari, because “Pilze-track“ simply would not have lived up to the track's musical standards it sets with its arrangement and sound-design. Now with the release of Manitari on Feines Tier it can finally  unfold its heavy hypnotically virtue on any shroom hunter on the dance floor and around. 

Lazaros' Space Opera EP will be released on Feines Tier on October 23rd, 2020.

Kicking of with the track 'Noone Else' that will be released first as an single with videoclip where he opens up his mind about being yourself. Arutani on remix duty shines his light on the matter with his deep interpretation.
'Too Late Tonight' the title track of the EP is an ode to the moment we probably all know and for sure experienced. That moment you stayed up for too long and are stuck in that particular moment knowing you have to go to bed. Stuck in a loop? Or is it the Trippin Jaguar remix you are listening to? Well it's definitely the kind of trip hop song you wanna end up with before closing your eyes.
Guess 'Backfire' is the right name for your sleeping plan right? This more oldskool kind of dance floor banger shows the minimal side of Noraj Cue. Damn if you think it wasn’t hot in here already the guys from Wille zum Wahnsinn take it up a notch while slowing it down… Am I dreaming?
So when you finally have woken up its time to start your day with 'Hinga', the more chilled jazzy kind of tune to set the right tone for your day and hear and feel the soft and loving side of Jaron. We end this journey with head honcho Genii and his interpretation of 'Hinga' which feels like the right way to end this late night tale.

Bock & Fuchs has already released a solo EP with TRAUM and returns here with the unreleased track "Holocene". He is based in Berlin Kreuzberg and is known for his numerous live gigs in the city that never sleeps.
His new track shows his signature, writing music in a live „played“ fashion that gives it a fascinating flow and here he also develops a nice peak feeling towards the end with vibrant synths pointing out of the track in an alarming way.

Tour De Traum XX

PREMIERE: J.WOCKENFUSS - Holocene [ Traum ]

The fourth installment on When Disco Goes Wrong comes at us with a clear message: It aint what you got, it's what you do with what you have. Do it well!

And in this case WDGW:s own head honcho @marten-attling has put together some extraordinary dance floor magic with the help of acclaimed producer @magnus-asberg-c-soul (Romana Records, Plastic City, Viva Recordings plus may more).

'Do it well' comes in five equally tasty and chunky portions: Mindbenders 'New York Mix' is a pumping fat bass laden stomper straight from a dirty abandoned meat packing district warehouse. 

The Magnus Asberg Remix jumps on a percussion groove train with a perfect double acid line driving it all the way down to dirty house central. Broken synth sounds on overdrive and expertly produced little bleeps and glitches throughout the track completes the journey. 

The 'Acid Mix' goes even deeper into the early morning floor territory, with a modulated siren like synth swirling around as the steady four to the floor groove keeps you in check. The 303 acid line sits perfect on top as dubby effects play out expanding into space. 

The next version brings arpeggiated fat 80s synth sound into a driving epic full on Italo Mix. With a boss bass line, disco claps and hammering snares, it is guaranteed to do some serious damage on a floor.

Last but not least, rounding off the EP is another original track. 'I Decided To Dance' is a dirty acid hippie affair with a soft spoken word theme and a deep infinite bass line that acts as the foundation for the track. An essential groover.
