Daydream REM-3920 is a bar-modeled smartphone launched on June 30, 2007. Its features include a full RBG QWERTY keyboard, a dedicated camera with 4 megapixels, and Wi-Fi + 3G + Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. The screen is a 240 by 320-pixel QVGA resolution. The REM consists of up to 24 ringtones and 7 SMS alert tones.

This project is hugely inspired by @fusoxide and his Ringtone Bangers Twitter account.

Took quite a while to flip this one, luckily the acapella sounded right over the beat straight away, they both have a nice full sound which made them blend well. I feel like Jungle Brothers are pretty underrated considering how many great albums they put out since the 80s, this album especially is dope cause they really managed to stay fresh, some real standout tracks from 1997 on the album, especially the track with Q Tip and De La Soul. Hope people like the more positive upbeat vibe of this one, thanks for listening!

Brain Flames

This beat was pretty long to flip cause of the way the hi hats were in the sample, loads of 16 and maybe even 32 note rolls, which made it a bit tough to sequence whilst keeping a consistent tempo. I had to really experiment with what drums I used cause some sounds would clash with the drums in the sample, defo glad I took my time with it cause I'm really happy with how the drums ended up sounding on this one. 

The beat has that kind of vibe which I thought would fit a pretty grimey acapella, this one from Onyx is too dope, one of my favourite songs of theirs and definitely my all time favourite album from them, 100% in my top 20 Hip Hop albums, just such an enjoyable listen all the way through. I didn't remix all the verses for this one, the middle two are great verses but the flow wasn't quite geling with the drum pattern like the first and last verses, so I decided to just remix them this time round. I have remixed those middle verses before, another one which I'm still proud of, very different vibe though so it was cool to tap into more of the hardcore feel for this one. Beat immediately had that Wu-Tang vibe, rugged jazz always fits their acapellas mad well imo. The guitar strings I sampled made me think more of that album by Raekwon than any other Wu-Tang project, not really sure why. Something about the way I flipped the strings just has that grimey vibe, fits the movie like description of criminal worlds mad well.

Really fun beat to make, sample was dope and I went a bit crazy on the layering for sure. Was originally going to have this on the album I'm working on, but I couldn't think of anything to write over it: would never want to force something like that so I worked out the 50 remix instead. The second half of this beat is defo my personal favourite, such a positive vibe from the chops. 

Also I really had no idea what to title this one, so I just named it off of the 'ayy' sound that's coming from the first chop, I felt like calling this beat P I M P just wouldn't work without the acapella. Peace

The intro to ATLiens really hit me on a different level, the melodies were so crazy I had to flip it my own way. Layered a lot of the chops and made sure I flipped it so it wasn't just the same melody with drums over it, cause imo everything about the intro is perfect as it is the way it progresses too with the vocals is just crazy, didn't even touch that part cause I couldn't think of any way to use it properly.
