One of an elite few producers to have achieved a string of commercial hit records whilst maintaining a position at the forefront of underground drum & bass, Matrix boasts a long history of respect amongst his counterparts.

The first solo release from Matrix in almost a decade, 'Let's Go Back' fuses the raw, uncompromising spirit of his early productions, with the ferocious energy and contemporary standards which have made his cuts with Futurebound so successful. Intense, apocalyptic and expertly crafted, 'Let's Go Back' stands firmly at the cutting edge of drum & bass music in 2019.

Matrix began his career with singles on such legendary labels as Moving Shadow, Metalheadz, Prototype and Hospital Records, before the release of his seminal 'Sleepwalk' album on Virus Recordings -considered by many as a key chapter in the foundations of drum & bass. His own imprint Metro Recordings was also heralded as a defining part of this journey. With early releases from Ed Rush & Optical, DJ Fresh, Dom & Roland and DJ Fierce, it played host to many of the leading names who went on to shape the genre. More recently Metro has become known for it's enduring alliance with Viper Recordings, delivering the immensely successful Matrix & Futurebound partnership. 'Lets Go Back' sees Metro Recordings continue on that path and once again signifies in 2019 why Matrix is so important within the drum & bass world.

With a genre-expanding debut album and a slew of heavily-supported dancefloor destroyers in his discography, L Plus has been one of the leading lights of Technique's roster for some time now. Known to smash it as a selector – both in the rave and on stream – he's repeatedly proven he's got the knack of turning technical studio science into pure organic vibe and connection with his audience.

So, time to pay attention to 'The Orion'.

Immediately, we're off and running. Percussive hits and arpeggios set the pace, as layers of melody and harmony build and expand to epic levels. A hands-in-the-air riff joins the party, augmented by the ominous spectre of bass that's begun to creep in. Then, the looping, spiralling final approach to the drop sets us up for the knockout blow.

Mayhem ensues. L Plus hits us with intersecting polyrhythmic elements, the atmosphere continually evolving as new tones and timbres vie for our attention. This producer handles even this complexity with a masterful restraint, though. Multiple musical strands are entwined with apparent effortlessness, but, trust, delivering this level of musicality and hard-hitting rave vibes requires an expert's touch.

This is another heavyweight tune from the Technique Recordings soldier. And, with an ever-growing army of fans and a lot more music where this came from, it's clear this is L Plus's time to shine. Watch out.

NAIS returns to NEUROPUNK RECORDS with his LET’S ROCK EP, the latest in an explosive series of releases across the neurofunk scene’s top labels including Eatbrain, Bad Taste, and a prior release on NEUROPUNK RECORDS with his EP “Dirty Bounce”. A diverse display of NAIS’ boisterous sonic character, the LET’S ROCK EP sees NAIS continue to build his meteoric momentum with a further four uncompromising tracks.

LET’S ROCK opens with a track by the same name, within which NAIS warps a funk fueled introductory instrumental with an uproarious bassline that allows space for the samples swung snares to step underneath. VISIBLE TRIGGERS takes a similar approach to its bassline synthesis, but instead stretches it amidst a rapid percussive sequence of ringing metallic timbre. The initial dubby atmosphere of JNGL follows next, taking the source material of the genre as the inspiration for a uniquely technical set of sounds. The braggadocious bravado of BOSSIN then closes the EP, perhaps most emblematic of NAIS boisterous sound in it’s hyperenergetic & funky bassline flow.

With LET’S ROCK, NAIS returns to his NEUROPUNK RECORDS launchpad as he seeks to set out on a second sonic journey that sees him rise even further than the explosive success of his first.
