Yigitoglu - 6 AM

Based in Istanbul, DJ and producer Yigitoglu uses dark and progressive sounds to open doors to the hearts of his audience. He started DJing in 2014 and played at underground venues in Antalya and Istanbul including Wana, Goblin and Upshot. Yigitoglu had a moment of inspiration during a live Joseph Capriati performance at Ultra Japan in 2017 and decided on producing darker sounds. He released his first single 6 am on 1103 Musik Berlin in 2018. Following 6 am, Hubble was released on Yin Yang Records and was featured on “Yin Yang Anthems 16” later attracting support from Joseph Capriati, Cristian Varela, Luigi Madonna, Paco Osuna, Akira Kayosa among other household names. Hubble made its way up to #43 on the Beatport techno chart. Yigitoglu is on the verge of releasing his first EP with his collaborator Kemal Vatansever on Pure Dope Digital and is working on many projects towards establishing his own musical identity in the techno scene.

Öona Dahl delivers her debut EP on Watergate, continuing her fruitful partnership with Dance Spirit along the way. Last year’s memorable WhoMadeWho compilation saw Öona Dahl drop her first musical contribution on Watergate, collaborating with Dance Spirit for ‘Break The Stillness’, one of the highlights of the mix. The New York producer, DJ and sound designer, has cultivated a curious and evocative sound going back almost a decade, releasing quality cuts on Anjunadeep, Hallucienda (home to her 2017 album ‘Hollograma’) and All Day I Dream, where she has become a regular at Lee Burridge’s iconic party series.

Universe Within You’ is one for the after-hours, wrapped in a minimal shell it unfurls gradually into a glowing late morning house gem, resplendent in golden synths and groovy drums.

Hotly tipped newcomer Yulia Niko joins the Watergate collective, delivering an exciting label debut to mark the occasion.

The Russian-born, Berlin-based artist has piqued the ears of heads with quality releases on Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and her own TochnoTechno imprint. She steps up for Watergate Records with an inspiring maiden EP, augmented by remixes from YokoO and Francesco Mami.

‘Manifesto’ is the intriguing opener, as intergalactic synths rub shoulders with a chugging groove for an ultra-cool finish. ‘Passion’ is heavy on vibes, pairing an enchanting vocal with a colourful bed of percussion. YokoO contributes a subterranean ‘Defragmentation’ remix of ‘Manifesto’ on the minimal tip, before adding some warmth to the palette teaming up with Francesco Mami for a ‘Vegas Mix’ primed for the afterhours with its deep grooves and shuffling beats. ‘Hurts So Slow’ reinforces Niko’s versatility, imbuing a dusty house vibe primed for late night sessions.

As a fresh label and growing brand, Techno Brooklyn Records is known to provide a futuristic and hypnotic techno sound that constantly captures the attention of ravers, fans and artists from all over the world. This time the likes of THD+N, Kriss Salas, Justiano, ErR0R and Saint Velez are amongst those that contribute to the 11 track opus.

PRØVOST kicks off with the hard hitting Mind's Eye, a slamming track with a futuristic feel thanks to the bright chords. Peaking from ErR0R is another hard hitting tune that is built on slamming kicks, while warped synths fire across the tune as if from a machine gun. There is hurried, dubby, atmospheric tackle from THD+N, face melting synth rhythms from Theo Nasa on JUJU MAN and then marching, heads down techno from Gioh Cecato. It's another wild and peak time effort from Yigitoglu while Saint Velez offers Perfect People, a far sighted and serene tune with thoughtful pads over relatedness drums.

There is a stark rave energy to Kriss Salas's Stray Dog, with its marching kicks and groaning pads, and things close out with heady techno from Secret Raver, unhinged late night emotions from Justiano and deep, bubbling techno power from KB95.

This is a widescreen selection of sounds that explore every facet of techno and get you feeling pumped up and ready for the rave.
