Bugged Out turns 30 next year, and this mix is made up of 30 records which represents each of those years from 1994 to 2023.

Myself, Johnno and Lemmy from Bugged Out all reflected on various points in the clubs history and the artists who have helped shape it, and chose records which felt are a representation of the sound of the club, not just historically, but where it stands now. 

Pulling together music from different eras and sounds was a bit of a challenge, and whilst some may not be the biggest track of their respective year - a few will be seen as classics and a healthy amount are perhaps obscure in relation - but to my ears they still sound as brilliant now as they did upon release. 

In a bizarre twist of fate, the oldest record from 1994 is mixed in with the newest from this year, which wasn't intentional. Clocking in at 2 and a half hours, the mix was recorded live in a single take, here in London.

Bugged Out! 1994-2023: A Periodic Selection, Mixed by Erol Alkan

For years now, an old recording of Jeffrey Sfire at Cocktail D'Amore's one and only cosmic hole was one of the highest references for us in terms of downtempo Italo sleaze - an almost 6 hours recording serving more like a PhD aural dissertation specialized in some of the most remarkable dancefloor digs (mainly Europe) had to offer in the 80s at under 115BPM. To be able to share it publicly on the HAND Mix Series as we reach number 50 is a huge honor and we're greatly thankful to Giacomo and Giovanni, the two cuties behind Discodromo that made this possible. We hope you can appreciate it as much as we have over these past years. Here it is HAND #50 featuring the unique sleazy wizardry of Jeffrey Sfire captured in a special moment in time during the moist and lubricated atmospheres of Cocktail, now online - listen carefully! Long warm summer nights are back, even here in Belgium, and we all know there's no better way to soundtrack them than by pressing play on some sun kissed disco. Well, guess what... you're in luck as Andrew Armstrong's new collaboration as Daddy Squad with celebrated French chanteuse Corine is almost as sun kissed and as disco as you could want. Almost, that is. Whilst the original positively pulsates with an ecstatic joie de vivre, there was still room there to give it a little bit more of a sunset backdropped roof party vibe. Enter Athenian producer and long-time Eskimo affiliate NTEIBINT, someone who knows more than a thing or two about creating cool music for hot nights.

In George's expert hands Galaxie melts like an ice cream on a hot day, Corine's vocals now drifting into soft focus over the kind of melodic bass line, dreamy melodies and organic beats that shimmer like the last rays of the sun on the Aegean. Airy and spacious he's even left just enough space in the mix for you to provide your own accompaniment, clinking frosted cocktails glasses together as you gently sway to the disco beat.
