here's a quick and dirty cover mixed this morning that evolved from a studio improv session a couple of weeks ago. A hot mess of analog synthesis: FEARvLOATHINC’s [Brand] New Home.

In 1997 Bombay girl was the most cyberpunk record I'd ever heard.
A collage of cutting-edge bodymusik, oblique pop culture sampling, numan-esque synthpop, and shouty new wave. An artifact from the future that still holds up today.

The opening track of Playground Theory's second album "Connect The Dots" (release date: Jan. 18, 2016).

From the dynamic opening  track, “All that Could Have Been”, which is written in Eastern Modal, until the closing track, an otherworldly, delicate pop “Princess”, the band  has tamed its means of expression and has found its own language with the help of George Priniotakis in production. KHOST [Deconstructed And Reconstructed By] GODFLESH 'Needles Into The Ground' CD/LP (CSR215CD/LP)

Needles Into the Ground contains material by Khost which has been elementally transformed by Justin Broadrick of Godflesh. The original Khost material – taken from their second album Corrosive Shroud – is dense, multifaceted and purgatorial with no straightforward ‘stems’ based approach. Broadrick has extracted what he needed for his work whilst in pure Godflesh mode. As a result, the outcome is claustrophobic and frenetic, the experience akin to being in the proximity of a large, unstable machine on the verge of meltdown. In addition to these pieces, Khost has added a new track. Vinyl comes with download code.

“If it was a painting it would be about a kilometer wide held up by old, thick metal supports and wires that creak in wind, in parts abstract, in parts quite hard to decipher, and the materials would be oil like and seeping, never quite drying out” (Khost).

Out with their third EP of 2016, this August Monkey Safari will release 'Boris,' with remixes by Guy Mantzur and Victor Ruiz, showing the world once again that these guys aren't messing around. 'Boris' is the follow up to their successful mega-EP, 'Bernstein,' released in June, with remixes by John Digweed & Nick Muir and UNER. Their next four-track EP shows the brothers' more serious, grownup side, taking new risks with no vocals, utilizing empty spaces and slower buildups. 'Boris' showcases proper club music: dark and sweaty Tech House with a hypnotic twist.
In the first track of the EP, self-titled "Boris," Sven and Lars go even deeper into their trance trajectory bridging on the darker side of Techno. The second track, "Dodge," takes listeners on a mystical journey playing with deep ambient sounds and a drop that makes your heart speed up. Tel Aviv-based producer Guy Mantzur (Kompakt / Bedrock / Diynamic) drops his hypnotic and seductive remix of "Boris," impossible not to get lost in. Additionally, Brazilian producer Victor Ruiz’s up-beat and complex remix of "Dodge" is not to be missed. Originally released in Japan in 2015 on DJ Emma’s Nitelist Music as part of its Acid EP series, only a small handful of copies of this 12” made it to Europe. JD Twitch was lucky to score a copy and both tracks became firm favourites in his sets and much asked about. Twitch felt this music deserved a wider audience so was kindly granted permission to reissue it on Optimo Trax. 

Yet another double A side release, A1, Hiroshi Watanabe’s - Infinity Sign is a hypno ecstatic acid piano-tingling monolith. A2, Kuniyuki’s  Acid Air is a slow building organic percussive acid freak out that WILL cause a freak out on the floor.

It is hard to do anything with a 303 that is interesting these days but both the tracks on this 12" are 100% club classic.

Therapy - Tamara Sky (Textbeak Remix)

Influenced by artists such as Coil, Cabaret Voltaire, and Skinny Puppy, Textbeak started creating music in the late 80s with Todd Sines. Together, they worked on various projects and eventually formed B/Re (Body Release) with Titonton Duvante and Charles Noel. Textbeak (as his project Bath) later signed with Jevan Records (run by gothic band Lestat) and recorded with producer Kramer (Shimmy Disk). He has since released solo works under the name Textbeak on various labels.   

Textbeak has performed at many events nationally and internationally, opening for notable artists such as Modern English, Merzbow, Nitzer Ebb, The Legendary Pink Dots and Meat Beat Manifesto. He has also remixed tracks for various artists, including Architect (aka Daniel Myer of Haujobb), ∆AIMON, Blush Response and Bestial Mouths. His 2016 album, Sick For Songs A Season Eats on Cleopatra Records, featured collaborations with Mark Stewart (The Pop Group), John Fryer (This Mortal Coil) and more.  

His new album, ASEMIC MUSICK, is planned for release in late 2025 on the Industrial Detroit label and features collabs with Antoni Maiovvi (Ye Gods), Brood Faye, Other, Broken Nails, Gwendolyn Dot and more!
