My Doggo Follows

This is a demo of Telharmonic's ASR Mode. The "Degree" input is sequenced by a Korg SQ-1. The D-GATE input is triggered at a separate tempo by Maths. DPO's Final output is used as the Telharmonic's FM input. The other Maths channel slowly modulates the Fold amount on the DPO, which is also tweaked by hand.

The sixth show in the Cyrk series ‘Pattern Compulsions’ curated for Resonance 104.4FM, is an exclusive mix by Dalglish..
Born in Edinburgh. Chris Douglas – aka O.S.T. / Rook Vallard / Dalglish grew up in San Francisco and began studying piano at age 8. Released first EP on Detroit based Switch Records in 1992. Founded Qlipothic Records in 1996. He has created a large body of work, a highly textured and confrontational take on traditional forms of electronic dance music.

With initial releases and early formative years spent in Detroit and San Francisco, he acquired several high profile fans such as Autechre who had him support their 2001 ‘Confield’ tour of North America, then later brought him to Europe to play their curated ATP festival, where he has remained since.
The digital only version of ‘Benacah Drann Deachd’, his latest release has been receiving some of his most eager reception to date, with a full page review in the June issue of the Wire:

“Chris Douglas haunts his own music. A nomad and something of a loner, he has rattled around the electronic music network like a busted component for the last decade and a half [...] It’s appropriate, because his music is one of the most striking evocations of the life of the mind that you’re ever likely to hear. The music is substantially live, improvised within a loose framework, and the shifting layers of grey-green tone, fractured samples and nervous tics that whip around the stereo field obsessively tease out new geometries and shapes ..” Derek Walmsley, The Wire



Pattern Compulsions #6 - Dalglish

Richard uses only the Echophon to process the Roland TR-606 drum machine. All sound bites use same drum pattern. No DAW computer editing or processing is employed. The sounds are created by modulating the Echophon.

The Echophon is the result of a collaboration between Tom Erbe (Soundhack) and Make Noise. The module utilizes Erbe's gorgeous DSP algorithms on hardware developed by Make Noise.
The Echophon flips the script on the 20 year trend of software synthesis emulating classic analog hardware putting the powers of a true DSP coding genius into the analog modular synthesizer.

This is a new module that is still in development here at Make Noise. We are showing a prototype at NAMM Hall E booth 1270.

The module utilizes a type of synthesis that has never been placed under voltage control.

testing out the more, mmm, mellow? side of the non linear circuits 'digital filter simulator' (DFS)

patch notes: a noodle from sheep caught in the morphagene, which is then multed out to clouds in parasite granular (pitched all the way down) as well as the DFS (which is also being hit with purple + white noise mixed at the second input) + polivoks vcf (bandpass out) combo. this duo is crossfaded between each other and then randomly panned in the stereo field along with a second sheep noodle caught in the modcan cv record, quanta noise  and white noise. modulation spread out across the whole mess via 3 channels of random from batumi and maths ch1 through let's splosh (which is also cross modulating batumi and maths for extra weirdness)

last thing to note i suppose, is the DFS is not receiving a clock at its clock input, but rather using the morphagene loop as its clock due to internal normalization (or so says the panel?) the DFS gets more and more sputtery here the closer the rate knob reaches 0
