The anonymous Man Power makes his debut on Throne of Blood with the label’s first release in 2015. Closely affiliated with Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant Records, he’s been making waves across the underground over the past couple years with remixes and releases on labels including Hivern Discs, Eskimo Records, ENE, Infiné, Rothmans, and Is It Balearic? With a debut LP in the can for Correspondant and 12”s due on Voyeurhythm, Renate Schalplatten, and Discos Capablanca, this unknown producer and DJ is definitely one to keep an eye on in 2015.
 
With “Trans” Man Power turns in a peaktime monster with soaring, frankly uncharacteristic optimistic rushes. Berlin’s Discodromo strips things down a bit delivering a version reminiscent of something that would have smashed up a 90s era Wicked party in San Francisco. Man Power returns to familiar dark and driving analogue territory on the flip with “Blue Suite.” WT Records mainman Willie Burns closes out the 12” with tearing, arpeggio-heavy mix that pumps things up for the dancefloor. Hotly-tipped newcomers Bird of Paradise round out the digital package with a slow motion acid remix of “Blue Suite.”

As you wander through the concrete jungle, titanium apes swinging above your head on fibre-optic vines and the calls of cyclist/snake hybrids shouting at you to get off the path in your ears, there's the sudden sound of something much more inviting drawing you in. As your slow canter turns into a gallop and you find yourself matching the speed of the apes above the calling gets louder and you realise that you're being lured in by the beautiful, metallic sounds of Bird of Paradise.

With his dub of Konkret Cutz blaring out for all to hear you find yourself joined by the various creature of the jungle and the trees around you come together to form a primitive club. Though these sounds may not be what you expected to hear when you first embarked upon your venture into this electronic forest they're exactly what you need right now and they'll qualm any fears of being trapped here forever that you may have had. You are still trapped, though, it's just that you don't mind any more.

Because of these here sounds.

Last year's '4' album saw Mr. Luke Vibert's first venture as Kerrier District in over a decade. And a successful venture it was at that – with the album becoming into an essential long player, and ranking as one of Bleep's top albums of 2015, Now, to mark Hypercolour's 50th single release, four of electronic music's heavyweights have brought forward three strong reworkings of 4: Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, Head High (aka Shed) and RA Best Live Act of 2015, KiNK – whose remix comes up trumps in our eyes.

In his take on album favourite, "Techno Disco", KiNK deploys a spacey synth melody and a Reese-style bassline – transforming it into an energetic peaktime track, with elements not falling sonically far from a UR record.

Steve Cook is a man who has so many releases it is easier to state where he has not released. Labels such as Tusk Wax, Clouded Vision, Rothmans, Meant, Throne Of Blood are but the tip of his iceberg. We are honoured to welcome him to Flight Recorder with two machine jams
Space Case is 105 beats per minute of pure Stoner Disco, flashes of acid melt between spaced out pads and cosmic rave waves. It comes with a remix from tici taci label boss Duncan Gray who steers it into funked up territory.
Wonderwheel is a hazy lazy midnight stroll through the neon streets of the past. A psychedelic slow jam of paraphonic synths that fizz & groove alongside a live bass line courtesy of Patrick Kilbey. Label boss Iron Blu remixes the track and steers it in a heavy dub direction.

Dans les halls

The light of the foyer illuminates the street. The illuminous pumps shine in the midst of the petrol station courtyard and the striking brand name 'Aziol' reads flamboyantly above the door. There was nowhere else to fuel up for miles around, business was booming and the chirps and chimes of mechanics echoed from parked cars. There was to be a race soon, crowds had already begun to gather to observe the fastest guys in town. Engines roared...

Trux is set to release an LP on the rather secretive German based Office Recordings.  Office07 is the latest edition to a series which has seen releases from the likes of Christopher Rau, Baaz and Dorisburg. Listen to "Aziol".

Living Scene

The sounds of the carnival filled the sprawling streets, colours flourished amidst the glimmering procession of percussion and cries roared. From a table he looked on in peaceful observation, a cigarette balanced delicately between his lips, a glass of rum perched upon the table which sat before him. He kicked out his legs and lay back, this was his city, his town and his Brazil. This sunkissed country and it's people belonged to him, they just didn't know it yet. 

Here is the latest offering from the much loved, highly rated San Proper. L.O.V.E. on Dopeness Galore comes with a laidback, sensual kinda feeling which can often go amiss from House music. This one is all about intricacy, attention to detail, a low slung groove and natural feeling. Listen to "Brazil".

The chant was one of pain and desperation as he stood amidst the village of shanty huts. This was a place which he had called home for so long but now as he stood staring at the burnt out town that surrounded him he had never felt a stronger sense of disconnect. His heart ached for his missing lover, she had vanished into the shadowy depths of the forest which surrounded the once peaceful town. He shouted into the night, calling her name, "Tabanka" he cried, again and again. 

Sofrito: Tropical Discotheque is a record label made up of Hugo Mendez, Frankie Francis, Lewis Heriz and friends. Based in London they release music of a wonderfully eclectic worldly origin which could be as far removed from the city streets in which they inhabit.  Alma Negra is based in Switzerland and has previously released music for Highlife and INI Movement. This one has tribal dancefloor written all over it.

The shuttle had finally left earth headed for extra terrestrial life and promise. It burst through the clouds and towards the blue sky which slowly merged to black. The switches flicked and the the lights flashed in the cockpit. He pulled his helmet over his head and tensed. He was ready to enter a zone in which no human had ever been before. His existence was no longer on earth but beyond it's outer reaches. Adrift the tiny rocket ship floated through the sky on to bigger, better things. On to Xager...

NY*AK has released a few records as of late which have caught our attention however this forthcoming release for Technicolour caught the ears straight from the off. Listen to 'Xager'.

Wrangler Ft. Gazelle Twin - He's A Liquid

Kezokichi Miyazaki's label comes into it's fourth single release and has a low-strung guitar feel and a "chug noir" direction that is currently de rigeur. This cut by Jo Howard AKA Bird Of Paradise takes the six strings, and sticks it up Roland's 'arris for an understated acid under-the-skin crawler.

Mondowski's latest release on Relish sees him share more of his love for moody 80's synth acts and imbues it with a seedy and hazy indie club atmosphere. There's two original cuts from the man, and the package also features The Hacker and Joe Spurgeon on remixes.

I was in the middle of our US tour in Los Angeles last year and got asked to remix one of the biggest acts in the world - Coldplay - so I locked down for a couple of days (into my manager's house) and here is the result. The original is such a summer jam I wanted to take it into a different territory. Support so far has been incredible, hope you like it!

I really love Sequential Circuits. When I heard that Dave Smith was going to come out with a completely new polyphonic synth, I had to have it. I got inspired to create an original song only using the Sequential Prophet 6 and the Sequential Circuits Drumtraks. I also decided to make a demo video showing me play all the parts of the demo song I created. I think the song / demo video is neat, and I hope you will too!

Set to release via JEUDI Rec, Bird of Paradise aka Jo Howard hits up a remix of the young Berlin-based producer Raphael Hofman's Susurrus EP.

The Susurrus EP is the product of the young Dutch-German talent Raphael Hofman - a producer following up his debut from Hamburg-based label - Save Room. Bird of Paradise’s remix features a dark 80s-Italo inspired cinematic soundscape cut up by gentle percussion, warping acid lines and a crisp kick. Also featured on the record is Kris Davis, Portsmouth's emotive, analog-techno producer who has been rising since his first exposure to the scene in 2014.

Susurrus EP will be available July 18th via JEUDI Records.
