Ukrainian artist iO is the next to make his mark on One Records with ‘Mir’, including two intricate and sophisticated, rolling dance floor tracks of the highest quality. On remix duty, the profoundly talented Cab Drivers showcase their unique production style, as they too are warmly welcomed to the label. 

Part of the game for a number of years now, iO’s successful releases can be found on imprints such as Rejected, Leftroom, Highway Records and his own Mulen Records which he started in 2012 and released his stunning debut album with in 2013. Aside from his skills in the studio, iO’s talents as a DJ also see him play regularly at the likes of Arma17 (Moscow), Studio 80 (Amsterdam) and Boom Boom Room (Kiev), also appearing at events such as ADE, WMC, Exit and Kazantip. 

Hugely respected Berlin residents Cab Drivers aka ZKY & Daniel Paul are well known for their distinctive productions and live showcases. Their well established record label Cabinet Records holds an extensive catalogue of quality music and places them even further within the real elite of electronic music.

This time it'll land on hometown imprint Major Problems - the label responsible for sharing their debut release, which resulted in them being handpicked by Levon Vincent for his apprenticeship program in Berlin.  

Second Labour of Hercules sees the duo delving deeper into the world of rusty percussion and bubbling aquamarine synthesis. Our pick, "Second Labour", is an eight and a half minute odyssey, slowly crescendoing to an all out sonic barrage.

Phillip Lauer seems to be generating a vast amount of music at present. Every couple of weeks an email will drop into our busy inboxes with a new release or remix from the Tuff City Kids member. His album for Permanent Vacation last year caught our attention with it's zealous melodies and excitable percussion. It was a real feel good affair which can often go amiss. His sensibilities remain similar on his latest release for Futureboogie. It seemed an odd choice of release for both the label and artist, however, after a listen it begins to make perfect sense.

Die Nummer selbst treibt ordentlich an und ist damit genau der richtige Einstieg in jeden Abend.

Wir möchten die Aufmerksamkeit aber nicht nur auf diesen einen Track lenken, sondern das ganze Release betrachten. Hier haben sich viele erstklassige Künstler gefunden, um den Originalen ein neues Kleid zu verpassen. Darunter sind Soukie & Windish, Sebo, Mario Aureo, Gunjah/Niconé, Spieltape und Tim Engelhardt. The shopfront looked gloomy and mysterious in the streetlight. Dust sat layered in the windows and no light could be seen from within. The crew of revellers stood eagerly outside the door, a small queue had already begun to form behind them as they waited. Finally at midnight, the bolts were unlatched and it swung open. One at a time they were ushered inside and in the distance they could hear the sound of drums echoing. Below them there was a party underway, deep down in the basement, and they were going there. 
Mark E is forever on point. His latest EP for Futureboogie is on point and 'Basement Trax' is on point.

"Can you sang?" shouted the bartender. The down and out hell hole had been falling apart for decades amidst the Texas landscape. It sat discretely alongside the highway as it had for many years, its wooden shutters blowing gently in the breeze against the old shack of a building. Inside there were few customers, the drunken women behind the til would shout at each customer who entered challenging them to sing. Her strong southern accent bellowed sharply through the quiet as she called for a "sanger" over and over again. 

Hotel Lauer is the project of Phillip and Jacob Lauer, two German brothers with a taste for percussion, synths and drums. Here is their latest release on Emotional Especial.

Based over the pond Suzanne Kraft has done a very good job of raising his profile in Europe. His sound fits perfectly on labels such as ESP, Melody As Truth, Running Back and now Kitjen. This latest effort sees him amp things up a tad as he releases three dance floor targeted tracks on the 'DJ Safety' EP.

The tables had turned on the world of spirituality. What had once been a thing so profound and adored had become black. Higher powers were at work beyond the understanding of those on earth, their worhsip had once been kind, loving and good but now the mass was tarred by a haunting set of moral judgements and all encompassing beliefs. This was a black mass. 

Amir Alexander has always had a close affiliation with Argot as a label, in 2012 he was the first artist to release on the imprint. Now he returns offering up a three track EP titled "The Butterfly".

One gun hung behind the bar, never had it been used before but there was an ever growing sense of tension amidst the gathering drunks. In the corner of the room a glass fell and smashed to pieces, this was met by a roar of laughter from the gang of youths to the left. The barman shifted nervously on his feet and glanced around the room. He dreaded the moment in which he might have to take action, make a move and use that gun, that lonely gun, that solo gun.
