“I'm into so many different styles at the minute so it was hard deciding on the vibe I wanted to go for, so there are lots of energy shifts throughout the mix,” she tells us. “It's got some beautiful moments, some deep, moody moments and – of course – some wonky, weirdo high-energy bangers. I also wanted to take the opportunity to showcase some incredible new music from mates, some forthcoming Pressure Dome, and a new remix I've been working on, all of which I'm excited to share!”

3024: Please describe the mix in a single sentence ?

Yushh: A good level of nuts and emotions 

3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?

Yushh : Tom Boogizm has played some of my favourite sets over the past couple of years. Unexpected twists and turns but always huge vibes. I’m lucky in Bristol to be around people like Bruce and Batu who’ve always been inspiring to me as DJs - Love the way they carve out their sets in a unique and unpredictable way. I-sha is also a huge inspiration - her sets don’t even sound like dj sets more like a live - so considered and patient and incredible selections. 


3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?

Yushh : I’ve just finished up a few remixes which should be dropping pretty soon and hoping to finish up another EP and maybe even a mini album by the end of the year. Otherwise I'm looking forward to diving headfirst into festival season then heading to Asia and Auz later in the year for the first time which is crazy exciting.

Featuring a collection of reflective tracks from 2008-2012, this collage is an insight into her delicate and emotive sound palette - intricate drum workouts, blissed out dub grooves, dream like vocals and emotive melodies phase through bass driven frequencies. 

Here, she tells a tale of what came before, a story of memory and influence, timeless and honest; it’s quintessentially Yushh in the rawest of forms.

Chinese born Tzusing has spent time in Chicago, Singapore and Taiwan and “this condition of dislocation” is what informs his music. It is a brash mix of industrial textures, harsh broken techno and subversive pop, trap and rap that is all blurred into one borderless offering that mirrors his own personal intersections. That music has come on LIES since 2011 and has given rise to standout LP 東方不敗 in 2017 that lead to shows on Boiler Room, Dommune and at Berghain. 

He was quiet on the release front in 2018, but has started this year with a new split EP on Pan, and now offers us a musical catch up ahead of him playing at Dekmantel Festival later in the year. Over the course of seventy minutes he jumps around restlessly, but somehow his sounds remain united by shiny metallic surfaces whether he’s mixing in Asian pop, whirring computer sounds in meltdown or horror-core. To us, it sounds like a futuristic soundtrack to some hyper urban metropolis that’s on the brink of collapse, and it’s genuinely compelling.

10 Years of WNCL Recordings #2: Caldera vs Ténèbre

Remotif is a Bristol based DJ and producer who has been making and releasing music for nearly a decade. 
His unique flavor of sample-infused leftfield house has been supported by artists as diverse as Tornado Wallace, Orpheu the Wizard, Tensnake, S.O.N.S, Bruce, DJ Python, Prins Thomas and many more.
After a spate of 12” releases on Bristol-based labels in 2019 (including the immensely popular ‘Multiverse by Moonlight’ on COD3 QR), Remotif has decided the time is ripe this year to take the plunge and start his own vinyl imprint entitled Familiar Strangers. The first EP, ‘Chromium Hangover’, dropped in February, immediately winning support of the likes of Mixmag and DJ Mag.

He predominantly leans towards the deeper, more melodic side of the spectrum in his productions. But his DJ sets span everything from techno and breaks, to synth-pop, Balearic and beyond, as regularly heard in his Super Eccentric Theatre show on Noods Radio, and gigs across the city.

LAPSUS RADIO 260 - Borusiade

Up next in the series is a producer, dj and label boss who we've been keeping an eye on for some time now. She's channeled a path for herself, showcasing music across the spectrum of UK bass, techno and beyond.

As the founder of the Pressure Dome label she has been responsible for the release of music by the likes of Joseph Craven, Mish, Syz and more. As a producer she herself has also appeared on the label and has also released music via Be Told Lies and Sci-fact Records. Her music has been widely supported from a number of UK based artists and she has found herself at home amidst the evolving leftfield bass and techno scene which is as crucial and prominent as ever. 

We felt that now was the perfect opportunity to showcase her distinct talent in the booth and once lockdown is over we expect to be seeing a whole lot more of Yushh, an artist very much on the up.

Yushh: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

New Yorker @acemo is an artist with an intense work rate. In the DJ booth he races through tunes, rhythms and styles with an insatiable sense of energy, and in the studio he is as prolific as they come. He has put out four EPs in the last year that take in jungle updates, battered techno and euphoric bass, and his self-released Existential album in late December came with a more thoughtful and philosophical dimension.

This week's mix is a bumping one that hits the ground running. Impassioned and uplifting house soon gets you locked before you rough ride through dusty breakbeats, twisted acid and percussive work outs. Kinetic juke and footwork styles and more fist pumping, brain frying house are all touched upon throughout this most wide-ranging selection and breathless selection, so strap in!
