After eleven years in activity, the rock band The Hangovern gives birth in great style to their first full-length album with the release of "In Vertigo". Comprising nine original tracks, along with a new version of the single "Tell me Where" and a cover of "You'll be Mine" by the master Howlin' Wolf, the trio's latest work promises to please Classic Rock fans while still catering to the portion of the audience yearning for fresh elements within the genre. Proudly embracing the influence of rock's canon, evident in every chord that carries the legacy of names like Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Elvis Presley, The Hangovern's sound goes far beyond being a mere tribute to the past or an ode to nostalgia. In "In Vertigo," the band modernizes the language of rock while remaining connected to its roots.

This song started with Artur composing a brilliant, open piece on his guitar, in his distinct surf rock style, and sending it to Josh. Josh put the bass down on top of Ken's banging drums, but it took Josh a while to be able to get this one for some reason. Once he and Ken were locked in, though, they knew they had it. JJ then sprinkled his electric keyboard magic, followed by Tez, who lights up the whole thing with his electric guitar wizardry. 

 At Artur's request, Ken, JJ, and Josh added the big harmony vocals, "See you soon, in a better world." Artur wanted this song to be about the need for peace in the world. Last, but certainly not least, Stephen added the sitar intro. He also accomplished the herculean task of mixing and producing the whole thing for us.

 This is another true team effort by the Eclectic Collective, and the fourth in our series of surf rock songs. This also happens to coincide with Artur's birthday, so please go to his page and wish him a happy birthday. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

See You Soon (Eclectic Collective w/ Surfers Like Us)

Rock can still be surprising. And this is the first sensation that one gets on hearing and, in particular, watching a show of The Hangovern. An essence that comes from different times and distant lands, but that  echoes strongly in the present. 

Founded in São Paulo, in 2013, by four guys who had never met, this band, with roots based in the hard rock of the  1970`s and in folk and blues, released their first extended play (EP), in March of this year. 

Formed by Leandro Duarte/vocals, Marcelo Frey/guitar, Rafael Romano/bass and Leandro DeVilla/drums, the recording of the band's first studio work unfolded at impressive speed, exactly the same as the famous debuts of the big names in rock. 

It's not a about wanting to compare themselves to the legends, but to establish the chemistry and the fluency of the ideas, rhythms, sounds, fury and melody that these hugely talented musicians have. The sky is the limit for The Hangovern. Plans, direction and the dreams of making it to the most distant of stages, inorder to make this legitimate and pure sound reverberate– just like the best of bourbons from Tennessee.
