The Outsider was one of a scant number of electro acts based in Japan, active between 2010 and 2020.

An outsider is defined as one who doesn't belong to a particular group, one not accepted by or isolated from society, or a competitor thought to have little chance of success. Sounds about right. Originally from Florida. Living in Japan since '99.

Kemek (aka Kemek the Dope Computer aka Deeper Than Space) has been kicking around the electronic music scene since the early '90s. His first releases were on Silent Records, the legendary San Francisco ambient label, as part of The 303 Terrorists. Three full-length Deeper Than Space albums followed. In 2001 Kemek got back into music production, this time as Kemek the Dope Computer, releasing a string of nu-skool breaks 12" singles and remixes. Kemek continues to work in a variety of genres and has releases on Muti Music, Architects + Heroes, and his own Dope Computer Music.
