Quickfix Recordings is an independent label based in Oxford, UK.
 
It was started with the aim of giving the flagging music industry a much - needed shot of musical excitement. Ten years down the line and over 20 successful releases (including debuts by bands such as Youthmovie Sountrack Strategies and Smilex) Quickfix Recordings continues to push new music.
 
The idea of Quickfix Recordings was conceived whilst living in Manchester in 1997 where we were inspired by the attitude of the local DIY Music scene there. Manchester had a lot going for it not only was it the home of the legendry Factory Records it was also home to InTheCity and the developing Beehive Mill and Northern Quarter scene. We soon set up a small online compilation tape subscription label called Glass Axe. Each tape was hand copied over old spoken word and nursery rhyme tapes and sent to subscribers featuring the best in up and coming unsigned bands from both Oxford and Manchester. 

In 2000 we returned to Oxford, in the time we had been away the Oxford Music scene had exploded with the coming of Radio 1 Sound City. Great bands such as the The Rock of Travolta, Meanwhile Back in Communist Russia, Eeeblee and a girl band called Caliber had formed and so Quickfix Recordings was born. Our debut release by Caliber 'Someday Now' was released in the January 2002. 

Quickfix Recordings soon developed from being a basic record label and progressed to artist management, recording, gig promoting and radio shows. 

For a number of years we put together the popular local music radio show 'The Fortnightly Fix' on Oxford's Passion 107.9fm and have also had shows on student radio Oxide and OX4 Radio. 

Over the past 10 years we have promoted gigs at many Oxfordshire venues including The Wheatsheaf, Fat Lils, The Ex Hall, Kiss Bar, The Zodiac and The Port Mahon. Gig promotion for us started with helping book bills for the local Abingdon Skittle Alley collective back in 2002, we then helped with the One Louder nights at The Wheatsheaf when, in 2004 we took over the regular monthly slot and turned them into Quickfix Recordings nights. Over the years we have put on a whole host of bands of all styles from Oxfordshire and also further a field, including Frank Turner, Meanwhile... Back In Communist Russia, Fixers, Youthmovies, To The Bones, Nought and Meet Me In St Louis. 

10 years on we still continue to push new music.

Formed in 2012, Supersonic Media is an independent London based Label, Publisher and Promotion Company. It is the brain child of two music industry professionals with over 35 years joint industry experience.

They formed Supersonic Media and their Publishing arm (Supersonic Media Publishing) with a wealth of knowledge in Label and Product Management, along with extensive experience in both Artist Management and Publishing too. They have worked with a wide range of both chart and underground artists and songwriters including the likes of 00s girl band Atomic Kitten; UK pop punk band Caffeine; chart topping house producers Waze & Odyssey; alt rockers Calling All Astronauts and the classical crossover Tenor Cortes, to name a few.

Supersonic Media is an eclectic platform for new and established artists and songwriters alike. With a mission to release great records and expose them to an unsuspecting world via radio, press and sync placements.

Supersonic Media are now looking to expand their roster and are looking for Dance, Bass, Alternative Rock, DnB, House and Post-Hardcore artists who want a label that puts music first.

The frontman for the Alternative Rock band “The Afro Nick” pulls from his experiences as a child growing up on Crete, an Island between the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. His earliest memories were the gypsies on the Venetian cobblestone streets, playing their guitars for coins. Although he may come from meager and anonymous beginnings, The Afro Nick, located now in NYC, compensates with his musical constructions and crooning lyrics that are played with breathless urgency, universal appeal and explosive participation. For The Afro Nick, his life is within his music. Like nights before and nights to come he chases the ultimate high for all musicians -- to simply play. On stage, he is encompassed in his fervor, negligent of the world around him. His album “Make It” is a live recording plus a studio track intended to incite a frenzy among listeners with its eclectic, alternative, and twisted lyrics that brings a masterful confidence to the music arena, all filmed and available on DVD. “Make It,” the album’s title track, is a punching guitar riff-driven song with surging soulful choruses flavored with moments of indie-rock funk. A battle hymn that incites the listener to push through their invisible constraints and hold up their clubs yelling their liberation. If one had to describe the musician in one song, “Don’t Waste My Time” epitomizes his ideology in life. Intensity and strife are abundant, but neither takes away from the carefree nature inherent in our lives. A simple message that the song preaches - have FUN! It’s a cheering anthem for those looking to grab life in a vise like grip.
