Blacklauren derives his name from the first two things people typically notice about him. He’s Black, obviously, and has a strong affinity for Ralph Lauren. Split between the bustling hip hop world of NYC during the 80s & 90’s and an early exposure to Haitian Vodou, his music style combines various sonic elements of the black diaspora while maintaining a signature style. As a DJ, his thought provoking techno driven sets have earned him gigs at every notable venue in the city. Currently, he is working on his own label Nyabinghi Electronic Research. This is the archive of our regular show on Cashmere Radio, Berlin. 

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing - or refusing - to fit the patriarchal, racist, neoliberal mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month host @lou_drago invites an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate futures free from all systems of oppression.

20 years ago Bryan Kasenic started The Bunker New York as an event series on New York's then-gritty Lower East Side. In 2014 he created a record label to provide an outlet for the work of friends, party-goers and visiting artists. Over the years, The Bunker NY has grown into an established institution which is well known for its steady output of high quality releases and its reputation as one of North America’s finest event series.

Olof Dreijer is a music producer, DJ and musician. A member of the Swedish electronic pop group, The Knife, Olof has been involved in different cultural projects where music plays a central role in communicating political beliefs. His solo project, Oni Ayhun, plays with stereotypical ideas and norms about gender in dance and experimental music.
 
Starting djing around 98' at local school parties, he ran his first club in high school and has been djing since. He started out playing Disco, House, Garage, and Drum n' bass playing more Hip Hop and R&B in the early 2000's. Following this was a long period of playing harder Techno and House, including EBM and Shranz. The last decade has seen him playing mostly throughout Europe when he's not too busy producing music in his Berlin studio.
 
Currently, as a DJ, Olof plays a mix of West African pop music, Kuduro, Acid, Hip Hop, R&B, and melodic Techno and House.  He enjoys making fun edits and remixes to play in his sets. He recently remixed the Swedish Batucada group, Yacombe. You can hear it in the opening of his Rinse FM mix.

He’s currently producing music for friends like Planningtorock, Zhala, and Houwaida Hedfi aka Hiya wal Âalam- a band in which he also plays the flute & percussion.

Naturally active person, in 2014, Nathalia founded Experiment Intrinsic – a hidden art dimension organically blended with the visual and musical imagination.

A pivotal change, in which she pursued a path of deeper self inquiry and progression of sound, shifted her from the electronic dance-floor oriented music and into ambient soundscapes. 

Her influences drew increasingly from experimental electronic, as well as traditional and spiritual genres. 

The following years were dedicated as developing the project into a dynamic and constantly evolving audio-visual platform.

A monthly mix series done in connection with the archival Instagram account There_Is_No_Planet_Earth – Which focuses on the history of House, Disco, Techno and the club culture of 80’s-90’s New York, Chicago, and Detroit, as well as Classic Vogue Ballroom footage.
