Special shout out to Thunder & Joy for the recommendation here. I remember Chris Duckenfield getting booked by the Ward 10 lasts in Sunderland in the early 00's and after going onto hear a few more of his mixes it was clear he was a heavyweight that lurked firmly in the underground but resonated certainly across the UK and Europe.

'Chris Duckenfield is responsible for some of the best house music to ever be made in the UK. Under a slew of aliases he's released house bombs as Swag and abstract electronica as RAC on Warp Records. Born and raised in Sheffield, the Duck is also one ofthe most respected DJs in the world, playing everywhere from Fabric in London and Panorama bar in Berlin, to small intimate parties in Australia. Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
If you can't spot a trend in my current likes it may be because it is diverse. I love listening to all my playlists which contain tracks that I like and if you like any of the music you must thank the artists not me.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
