This CD's quality is 100% undisputed. It's memories to my early 20's is unrivalled. Moulding the laid back sounds I started listening to by mixing laid back house, downtempo, hip hop, soul and plain and simple incredible music into one cd. For me, it really is a seminal mix and one which holds endless memories of lazy weekends of Sunderland. Enjoy and share x

Another stunning cd from the Mixmag Live! series, this one released in 1996 with a rare mix from Moby and half of Slam, Orde Meikle. I always remembered the gorgeous bulling start of the Moby mix and held it flying above other CD's with its intelligent electronic waves. Turn it up, and enjoy the mix.

Back to Mine: Nick Warren is a DJ mix album, the first in the Back to Mine series, compiled and mixed by Nick Warren. The mix focuses on downtempo tracks, with Allmusic calling it "a smart and non-confrontational mix safe from predawn noise complaints". CMJ New Music Report called it a "felicitous cocktail of psilocybin and mescaline". Iain Stewart, in The Rough Guide to Ibiza and Formentera, viewed Warren's mix as one of the best in the series.

They had no choice, no option. The only thing left for them to do was to sell the salt they took from the sea. For decades, the "Barmenammannamma" had been trapped in their ghetto on Cedric12. No escape, no choice. Since their last uprising against their oppressors, things had only gotten much worse. No electricity, barely any water, little food. In earlier times, at least, they could spend some of their free hours playing a bit of Bubble Bobble together, or listening to historic sound recordings from planet Earth. But that was over now. They had no choice; there was no mercy. Only the sea, and the salt. At least the sun was shining today. A glance toward the horizon. A brief moment of forgetting.

Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJ's and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
