Re-loading this now mixes on SoundCloud seem to have some breathing space. It's the third mix in the 'One for the Ladies' mix take a 'Dubai Ladies Night' twist, banging out class chart from the 80's, 90's and beyond that the lasses love mixed in with a few cooler numbers like Slum Village amongst others.

It also pretty much sums up the vibe down at LeftBank on a Wednesday night where I used to play.

We've actually had this on the iPod for years but Tony has very kindly offered it up again for a re-airing. It really it quite seminal stuff. 'Recorded, late into the Night, January 2003. A live, one hit mix via Suade's Studio in Sandyford, Newcastle upon Tyne. A personal soundtrack to a difficult time in my life. Restless Soul: Celebrating the life and music of Phil Asher with Alex Attias - 29.01.2021

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.

About Gareth:
Digital creative type, gamer, music lover and occasional DJ. Currently living between Dubai & Seoul after setting sail from Sunderland in 2010.
