Shift EP is a collaboration between close friends Fakir and Minimal Entropy. They have combined their skills and explored the different facets of minimal techno, with each track having a very different identity. The elements composing the tracks have been carefully created and chosen in order to illustrate the emphasis both producers have on textural elements and spatial arrangement within the Techno genre.

An artist with a diverse and storied relationship with the dance music scene, GMJ & Matter are proud to see Kasper Koman make his label debut with the twin-track "Sinking Sky / Biome". A veteran of more than a century of production credits dating back to a 2008 debut, Kasper Koman has seen his work signed to myriad high-profile labels including the likes of Plattenbank, Anjunadeep and Guy J's Lost & Found. From central Netherlands, Kasper has combined trademark emotion with a powerful and evocative sound that has seen his music supported by such leading tastemakers as Guy Mantzur, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J himself. Now debuting on Meanwhile, the "Sinking Sky" opener is characterised by a driving beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern. A running 16th note bassline pattern enters the fray in the second movement with a fizzing vibrancy provided by resonating and filtered effects. A cast of additional characters add to the overall sonic landscape including a beautifully juxtaposed pad progression. A spine-tingling breakdown provides acetylene-edged emotion via the extended bassline motif, before hitting its stride once more in the latter stages to wondrous effect and no small amount of production talent. "Biome" continues the narrative of raw effects-laden power, while a strong kick lays the foundation for a piercing percussive groove, adding swing to the off-beat. A well-crafted sonic palette supplies a soft chord progression of Kraftwerk-inspired imagination as a meandering array of well-placed effects, white-noise washes and rasping bass notes create a mosaic of sounds. The result is a hypnotic, angular offering that keeps listener interest piqued without a central melody seeing the 6-minute piece fly past in an instant. Following The Frederik’s stunning remix of Faroese singer, Greta Svabo Bech’s ‘Shut Up & Sing’, the young Danish producer is set to release ‘Torpedo’, the latest sonic bass weapon that adds to a growing audio armoury. And if the original wasn’t enough, this release comes complete with a remix from leading UK production talent, Far Too Loud.

The Frederik is now back in Copenhagen, ensconced in his studio working on new material and preparing for the launch of his debut hometown club night, The Frederik Presents, on 28th November.
