We wanted to write a Halloween song that was a cross between Danny Elfman and The Doors. "Monster" is about a scary monster who hates that people see them and scream and run away. It hurts their feelings. We hope it puts you in the Halloween spirit.

In the past year, The Hengles have made considerable progress internationally. That resulted in airplay on radio in among others: Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, USA, UK, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Phillipines, Sweden, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Hungary and Austria. Singles from the band also entered the iTunes / Apple Music charts in: Netherlands, Finland, Belgium and Switzerland.

The distinguished gentlemen of The Hengles have more than earned their musical spurs in the past. The guys from Amsterdam played in illustrious 80s and 90s bands like Fatal Flowers, Treble Spankers, Supersub and Jack Of Hearts.

Radical art-pop sweethearts Beauty Sleep are Irish producer and songwriting duo Cheylene and Ryan.

Following on from their boisterous set at SXSW this year, 'Go' sees the band return with an exhilarating new sound.

Written on a stormy night, 'Go' is a song about empowerment and the thrill of moving on from the past.

Synth player and Singer Cheylene Murphy describes the song as 'Weird, loud and over the top’.

"We were in a really playful mood and that mischief snowballed into every part of creating 'Go'. We just went with whatever made us laugh, and it brought us right back to why music is wonderful - it’s just so much fun!”

Guitarist and Singer Ryan McGroarty said the song represents 'Not taking anything for granted.'

"Writing 'Go' felt like breaking free of any expectations or pressures that we put on ourselves. We kept asking ourselves what a 'Beauty Sleep song' sounded like, and that way of thinking just put restrictions on ourselves.

This song is about challenging insecurities, and doing what feels right!”

The track was self produced by the Derry duo and mixed by Ryan in Start Together Studio, featuring band members Aimee Williamson on bass and Ross Bickerstaff behind the kit.

Beauty Sleep's dreamy soundscapes and dizzying songwriting have drawn comparisons to Tame Impala, Orange Juice and Confidence Man.

They released their debut album ‘Be Kind' in 2019 which saw them shortlisted for Best Album at the Northern Irish Music Prize and garner national radio support from BBC Radio One, 6Music, and RTE2fm.

Beauty Sleep’s digital performances at Ireland Music Week and SXSW over the past number of months were the band's first since their riotous pre-pandemic summer, rampaging through European festivals such as The Great Escape, Electric Picnic and Other Voices.

Following recent appearances at End Of The Road and Twisterella Festival, Durham-based indie punks Fortitude Valley are pleased to reveal their new single ‘The Right Thing (Part 1)’ which is out now on all good digital service providers.

The track is the final single to be taken from their self-titled debut album set for digital release on 29th October 2021 via Fika Recordings—due to global vinyl pressing plant issues, physical preorders are suffering from delays and are still available to purchase on bandcamp now, with delivery date TBC.

Commenting on the track, vocalist Laura Kovic says: “'The Right Thing (Part I)' is about a one-sided attempt to salvage a dysfunctional relationship. It's a reflection on the ways you can sometimes feel lonelier in a couple than you would being on your own. It's one of our favourites to play live, and acts as a counterpoint to the final song on the album, which is the more sombre and introspective second part of the narrative.”

The band are also delighted to announce a run of UK support tour dates with Los Campesinos! in December 2021, with all shows now SOLD OUT (see below for listings).

Recording in two stints during 2019 and 2021 with a COVID sized hole in the middle, the band’s self-titled debut album was laid down between Soup Studios in London, Rocking Horse Recording Studio in Durham, and the members’ respective homes. The album was recorded, engineered and produced by Giles Barrett and Neil Combstock, mixed by Michael Collins, and mastered by Dave Williams.

Addressing themes of the passage of time, friendships and relationships growing apart, and feelings of insecurity, depression, and anxiety—as well as searching for love and salvation—the album is very much a product of our times.

Previously-released album singles ‘Wreck’, ‘Cassini’, ‘Baby, I’m Afraid’ and ‘All Hail The Great Destroyer’ have received praise from a rapidly growing list of press including HARD BEAT, Emerging Rock Bands, LOUD WOMEN, The Punk Site, Noizze, Austin Town Hall, Bring The Noise, For The Rabbits, Get In Her Ears, NARC. Magazine, Sweeping The Nation, Distorted Sound and more.

The tracks also made the band’s first splash at radio, landing on the X-Posure Playlist at Radio X, XS Manchester playlist, Idobi Anthm playlist, Amazing Radio playlist, KINK Indie playlist, and securing spins from Steve Lamacq and Marc Riley at BBC 6music, Mickey Bradley (of The Undertones) at BBC Ulster, BBC Introducing and local radio support, as well as a swathe of regional and specialist shows jumping on board.
