I'm a big big fan of John Rocca.
He has written and produced some of the best dance music, from Southern Freeez by Freeez, to The Crack Train by Midi Rain (my personal favourite). 
I Want It To Be Real is another fave of mine from 1984.
My House Remix is quite different to the original version which was mixed by Arthur Baker.

Nathalie Duchene is the new entry on the Toy Tonics rooster. Upcoming DJ and producer talent from Paris with prominent protégées: Yuksek and Boombass of Cassius are the ones who helped her to get introduced to the French scene and to shape the skills as DJ and producer of her own music. Since she came to Paris from Belgium in 2008 at the age of 19 it were these two encouraging her to make music. And by now, after observing the good artists and developing a real obsession (not only) for club music she became a steady member of the new Parisian house scene. She regularly plays in the main Parisian clubs such as the Rex, Silencio and Sacre. And being known for excellent DJ and selector skills able to create deep and colorful musical atmospheres, she also gets often invited to play happenings of brands like Louis Vuitton, Numero Magazine or the off - parties at Cannes Film Festival. 

In fact by now Nathalie has strong connections not only in the growing new French house scene but also to the French movie world. Since living in Paris she wrote a few pieces of music for movies  (and fashion shows) and it looks like there will be more engagements in the future. Nathalie’s music production skills are impressing.

Now, after DJing for a couple of years, spending endless hours in the studio to learn - Nathalie is ready for her own dancefloor EP.  Three sunny electronic tracks, disco, Balearic house vibes that avoid cliches, instead play with atmospheres and vibes that feel familiar and catch you quickly, without being too direct.

It makes total sense to release these on Toy Tonics. Not just because France is one of the countries with the biggest Toy Tonics fanbase, but also because Cassius and Yuksek have always been „heroes“ to the TT crew. It all makes sense. Nathalie Duchene’s first EP „Praia“ is out on march 11th including remixes by Yuksek, Boombass and Carl Chaste.

D’Arabia is back on House of Disco with come sleazy Italo flavour across two originals, ‘Continuamente’ featuring DJ Rou and ‘Sempre Meglio’ featuring Brine. Sam's first appearance on Toy Tonics was 2 years ago. Sam came up with the Sport House EP. Here he revealed his very own way of making music: he plays synths, keyboards, knows about chords and makes a type of organic house music with lots of saxophones, great jazz chords, based on southern rhythms.

Sam’s house music reminds the more Balearic vibes from the 1980ies or the early disco house vibes. Some might call it organic. And yes, it’s house, it’s 4 to the floor, but he got that special human, handmade vibe that people look for today... after the overdose of digital music of the last 10 years this new way of making dance music might be the perfect mix between analogue and digital. 

Sam already released an EP with Italian disco last year. In case you don't know Sam’s key track please check out Danza Organica from his last EP Italianissimo: This one has been hammered by DJs all over the world over the last months: Gerd Janson, Perel, Job Jobse, DJ Tennis, Solomun… You can hear it on festivals all over the world this summer.

Sam Ruffillo & BPlan - Mediterranea

Here is the debut EP from Manchester producers Tom Lonsboroough and Col Hamilton, known as 2 Billion Beats with the Musics Alfresco EP.


Things kick things off with the uptempo ‘The Moodymann’, a funk fuelled cut of bottom heavy laden disco house. Retro synth bass with an acidic twist, rolling house rhythms and keys create a melodic yet dancefloor orientated vibe and a slightly old school feel. 

Next up, ‘Secret Sub Disco’ journeys into more laid back disco territory with layers of melody washing over bubbling bass and relaxed rhythms to create a decidedly chilled vibe with some added in some acidic arpeggiated lines. 

Finally 2 Billion Beats deliver ‘Lunar’, a deep and delightful slice of balaeric tinged house built around bass stabs, breaks and a rolling Rhodes key loop.

LATE NITE TUFF GUY - ONE NITE IN A DISCO

Not only is mike "father of the year", but he also has records. Deep crates, as they say. MIKE FEEL LOVE will keep the chin scratchers at bay for a while, seeing as the original cover has zero internet presence. It will also keep the dancers happy. A scrappy little edit keeping the sloppy instrumentation in tact, because it's the best part of the song. Drums fall out of time, or drop out altogether. The synth arps fall out of synch which makes you wonder if that's an arpeggiator, or some maniac playing live. The other side is a very old edit Mike dusted off and is guaranteed to make the chin scratchers take a bathroom break- seeing as it is a top 40 hit from the 70s. Which doesn't mean it's not a burner.
