Joel Isaac Black or Mister Hazy Pockets (as his faithful converts know him) is first and foremost a soul-man. He’s up to get down. He is a psychic selector and dance music deejay of wide renown, an electric presence, an old-soul music preacher inviting you to the kingdom of heaven in the kick drum. He is a grinning cowboy, sometimes a wizard, but perhaps most importantly, a gentleman with a deadly instinct for turning a party on its head and putting pep in the step of the stiffest statues in the room. — Hazy Pockets means select cuts of sublime acid- funk-liquid-disco-boogie, robo-sleaze, icy-hot body-beat, blissful Balearic mechanics, a glorious romp delivered with subtle winks and deliberate bounce...with an altogether human funkiness shaking it all loose.

Currently based in Milan, the name WhereIsFenix reflects an artist who thrives on movement – always shifting, never staying in one place too long. His sound is rooted in raw, percussive energy and storytelling through emotion, deftly bypassing genre boundaries in favour of a global palette cultivated from years of travel, crate-digging, and immersion in different scenes. From gritty after-hours parties on 9 Mile in Detroit, to club closing sets at Circus in Tokyo and dynamic open-air raves in Berlin, his intuitive sets flow through moods and textures rather than genre tags. His productions echo that same sense of motion, vitality and unpredictability. 


A respected collaborator, remixer, club-weapon edit specialist, and a creator whose studio work bears a singular, charismatic touch, WhereIsFenix has built a presence that's grounded in community, unity and authenticity. Biography:

Since discovering club culture in the late '90s, his life’s roadmap was set.
After that first fulfilling clubbing experience, he was hooked—constantly chasing that feeling on the dancefloor again and again. Known as the first and the last man standing on the dancefloor in the clubs he called home, it was only a matter of time before this passion took him further.

In 2001, he moved to Ibiza to immerse himself in that emotion, living in a continuous loop of rhythm and connection for several years. From there, his journey took him around the globe—from Goa to Cape Town, Cape Town to Miami, Miami to Berlin, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv, Budapest…just to name a few.

In 2009, the stunning natural beauty of Corfu blew his mind. He decided to stay for a few years—and that’s when DJing truly became a part of his musical lifestyle. With no strong club scene on the island, the only way to listen to and share music for hours was by DJing at beach bars. So, he started a residency at the well-known Fuego Beach Bar, followed by many other spots. Eventually, he even organized underground beach parties—and finally the circle closes again. Dancing behind the decks, playing his personal interpretation of beach life sound, still fulfills him to this day. 

Now living in the south of Germany in the beautiful area of lake constance in between Zurich and Munich.

"Never stop exploring, always keep moving & dancing" – this remains his core philosophy.

He feels most at home playing outdoor daytime sets or intimate indoor warm-ups. When peak time arrives, though, he loves returning to his roots—joining the dancefloor himself.

Always inspired by his best friend since high school, Helge Frerickson—a true forward-thinker and tastemaker when it comes to cutting-edge music—they’ve shared more than just friendship. Countless nights of trance, a shared musical soul, and a deep bond shaped by sound.

> Bio: Berlin-based Nat Wendell, a seasoned DJ and producer with a profound connection to his core sound, is one of house music’s true exponents. 

Uniquely his, Nat has left an indelible mark on a world of electronic music so often bereft of the essence of groove—the same groove that now regularly sparks the dynamic atmosphere of venues like Berghain/Panorama Bar and Heideglühen in Berlin. His mission, since 1998, has been the same: to captivate audiences with his unmistakable sense of swing. 

His musical upbringing in the melting pot of cultures that is London has been the catalyst for his sonic identity, and his very first record purchase, "Snap - The Power," proved to be a powerful harbinger of things to come.  Immersed in the diverse Caribbean culture, with its roots in gospel, dancehall and soul, he developed a keen appreciation for the rhythmic intricacies of records. The influence of London's soundsystem culture is evident in his signature garage groove, though so too is the pulse of New York's 90’s house culture—from its intricate tempo to its powerful soul.

A move to Berlin in the 2010s saw releases on essential labels like Courtesy of Balance, thisisnegentropy, King Street Sounds, as well as his very own Depths of My Soul. His output has kept up pace with his gigs, and so too has his sound: on the dancefloor, Nat’s penchant for snapping grooves and desire to connect with the audience on a deeper level become an invitation to embrace the moment, surrender to the rhythm, and experience the magic of the dancefloor.

Nat Wendell continues to evolve into a maestro of sound, crafting a unique sonic journey that is deep, soulful, and undeniably groovy. That his music is now taking him worldwide, from the celebrated Fusion Festival to the hallowed floors of his very own inspiration, New York City, is a testament to the fact that his sense of swing has, and will, withstand the test of time.
