A haunting and evocative piece with a deep, resonant bass line  and complex layers of Rhodes, percussion, and synths. The musicians build tension throughout the song, creating a sense of restrained drama that is only fully released in the final moments. Despite its complexity, the track maintains a sense of restraint throughout. The musicians never fully let loose, always holding something back and keeping the song on a tight leash.

Many thanks to the guys in the band for this recording. It required a half dozen “takes,” but we finally achieved the sound we were shooting for.  

For this program music, imagine being locked inside an old mausoleum at 2 in the morning, when suddenly spirits of the dead appear with their dead lovers. When the guys start jamming, the dead begin to materialize and dance like they did when young in 1967.  Floating candles of fire hover above the dancing dead as the wild moaning music plays on until dawn., unheard by anyone alive in the entire world.

There's no raging against the dying of the light it's just getting dark. 

Matthias' Jamaican influenced drums are to the fore, while Mike's keyboards have a haunting fairground ring to them, whistful and sinister. 

Bjarne's bass is a heavy undercurrent allowing Jussi's guitars to thread their way through the soundscape. 

And the vocals? They're Bjarne's choral howl.

The inspiration for this song? A drive out of town late at night, sitting and talking, laughing and gazing across the city to the ocean and the stars, seemingly below on a cool, clear night. 

Jussi,  with acoustic guitar in hand, strummed the main rhythm and the rest came together in the studio the next day.

Dramatic and sweeping, the guitars resonate from here to there, crossing the space in between.
