The Journey - Under The Lamp

It's been a long time coming... but we are just as excited to share this with you now, as we were when it happened.

Back in March, headlining our first event back after a year on pause, Gabriel Moraes went Under The Lamp to a sold out audience.

Raring and full of energy, every person on that dancefloor contributed to what was such an incredible night!

The Mid Week Mix is a series that we started during lockdown 1.0 as an opportunity to share on a weekly bases - mixes that resonate with the sound of our events. Something to break up the week and get you grooving toward the weekend.

With Under The Lamp back up and running this year, we want to continue the Mid Week Mix - each time bringing you a live recording of the performances experienced at each one of our events.

Today, we present Mad Lucas' performance from The Journey - Under The Lamp. Opening up shop, Mad Lucas treated us to an uplifting and soothing set, full of warm energy!

We created the Kashay Salon Podcast in an effort to share with you our passion for music and blessed sonic journeys, with no borders and the inclusion of all ethnicities and walks of life. Each episode features various artists curated for their embodiment of the ideals of the Kashay Salon, embracing as we do different cultures and peoples from around the globe.

We focus on the diverse and multicultural sounds of organic house, downtempo & slow rave, deep tech, and groovy world rides. Come join us as we set out on melodious musical expeditions. And this episode is presented by @sala60psychedelia. Enjoy it friends.

The Sala 60 Psychedelia project, DJ and Brazilian cultural producer,
from Chapada Diamantina-Bahia, Dalney Geovenazhi, brings with him and in 
his musical research, ethnic and historical, urban and ancestral representation of determined people or place, assigning ideals of unification and understandingthrough medicine music (Chillout / downtempo). 

Their creations are based on their roots, with African music in its construction, as an influence, the psychedelia of the 60s / 70s and its movement of musical and political-social immersion, the multiplicity 
of Brazilian music and its ancestry, referring to their ancestral conscience and extolling their spiritual attributions. 

"Engenho das Flores"

Artists and music from different decades and countries,
in a compilation that mixes Brazilian folk cultural movements and world music artists, 
Nina Simone, Leonard Cohen, Led Zeppelin, Joan Baez, 
Gilberto Gil singing Beatles and Amy Whinehouse are some of those 
who makes up the set "Enegenho de Flores"

Representations that share the same connection in their musicality 
and have an amplitude over the regency of words and rhythm, body and mind. 
"Engenho de Flores" is a compilation of Brazilian and world artists, 
with songs that always have a place in our memory and in our hearts.

For today’s Mid Week Mix, we are pleased to bring you a live recording from our most recent Under The Lamp event. 

Opening up the floor for what was an incredible night, we had Nicolette a.k.a Vena Cava treat us to an outstanding performance. 

The opening slot is by far one of the most important slots of the night in our eyes. To set the pace and build tension for the night to come. Keep the energy at bay but give people a little taste here and there, of the chunky sounds they are all so eager to hear. 

Vena Cava did just that and it’s safe to say that this was one of our favourite opening sets ever performed at Under The Lamp. 

We want to say a big thank you to Vena and we hope you all enjoy listening back to the set as a teaser of what’s coming in just 9 days time when we open up shop for Le’bruh - Under The Lamp.

October came over with its usual two-sided weather, the slow cold wind and the rusty, pale, grey leaves that we used to step over in the refreshing morning walk. A cup of espresso, a rolling tobacco, two shabby postcards from Brian Eno and Boards of Canada, the faded ships as they’re leaving from the port passing through clouds of thick fog. Autumn is love and broken dreams, is poetry and glasses of wine, music with warm everlasting feelings, windmills that keep spinning into wind’s commands like the spinning years of our youth! For the joy of those who know (and even more so for those who don't) here comes a new mix dedicated to the beauty of spinning windmills. Downtempo/Organic tracks with Greek traditional music influences.

2 Hrs recording set from Agents Of Time @ Rinse France.

Andrea Di Ceglie, Fedele Ladisa and Luigi Tutolo are the Agents Of Time. The italian trio started this ambitious project in July 2013. The debut album will be released on the british label, Stem Records, in January 2014.

Their innovative sound, characterized by the fusion of strong elements that are electronic, progressive, techno and ambient, allows to relate with any kind of dancefloor.

Their live performance, distinguished by an evident visual and choreografic attention, is advantaged by the use of analogic instruments that make the product unique in its genre.

The meticulous care of details is the background of a performance which is always unpredictable and never taken for granted, making the Agents Of Time an innovative and polyhedric group.
