Google tells us that at the centre of the Earth the temperature can reach anywhere up to 4,400 degrees Celsius. Google also tells us that this new Kyle Watson release reaches temperatures that are even HIGHER than that! Here at BoC the sheer though of that is enough to get our moustaches just a little bit moist.

At his core (see what we did there?) Kyle Watson is without a doubt the drum wizard, layering the most peculiar sounds with his drums to create an organic feel that is unimaginable to most common folk. With drums being the main focus for this release, you know it's going to be something special. Spray on your best anti-perspirant before hitting play on Mammoth - you're bound to get a little hot under the collar as the howling lead guides you through this sample-based record. Wipe your brows and compose yourself because next up is Where's My Snare, which has been a staple in Kyle's streams over the last year. It's a big club record at heart, but somehow feels equally engaging on repeat as you drip dry your armpits at home.

While recording your cat being vacuumed or your wife washing the dishes may feel like another day in the office to Kyle, we're still gobsmacked at trying to guess where he comes up with these ideas for the most unique drums and production ideas in the game.

Kyle Watson - Where's My Snare

Cued up for the second release on the new imprint No Context is this spicy number from Kyle Watson featuring London-based South African-based artist Evida.

There's a story behind this one. Originally written as part of a separate project, Lost went through eight (yes, eight) previous versions. Rewritten so many times that Kyle apparently started humming it in his sleep, Lost is the perfect example of why you should never give up on those older projects.

Fully embracing the 'works at home as well as in the club' ethos of No Context, Lost is a crossover record anchored around an attention-grabbing fluttering synth. Tight writing and vocal delivery from Evida only elevates the record and is the icing on an already sweet cake. This one feels like an evolution in Kyle's sound, and personally we love to hear it.

Oh The No is a heavily processed record with a warmth that rivals most others. Eveningperple release their debut Holy Molé EP 'More Romance' featuring 3 new tracks and remixes by RIFFA, Proper Villains, and House Divided. Bringing back their funky fresh stylings to the label – their previous releases on Holy Molé include the Winter Fresh compilation and a remix of Codes & Astronomar 'How We Do'.

Leading with dreamy, amorous stabs, the title track 'More Romance' introduces a deep bassline that carries through the funky rhythms and fresh soundscapes. 'U Really R' moves into brighter melodic flavors with lush, natural samples balanced out by cheeky drum programming and a sassy bass growl. Diving straight into bouncy, syncopation, 'Mirage' moves through ethereal instrumental waves before bringing back the swinging rhythms now with spacey synths as the melody takes flight.

Proper Villains amps up the remix of 'U Really R' with oscillating acid lines and a heavy low-end, meanwhile RIFFA layers his remix with propulsive percussion and a heartbeat bassline. House Divided drives the funk way up remixing 'More Romance' with tech-heavy grooves.
