With only two weeks on the clock for his 10-track EP release 'Circus Tales', Canadian electronic music pioneer Kenny Glasgow provides a warmly-defined electro-machina mix of sound.

After spending the last 5 years as half the acclaimed duo Art Department, Glasgow has returned to his solo roots - functioning as a musical engineer, music composer, lyricist, and vocalist. Glasgow immersed himself into the scene by acting as a promoter, putting on illicit warehouse parties in his native Toronto before progressing to become a resident at the acid house meccas The Buzz and Industry Nightclub. It was here where he picked up his sense of the dance floors, permuting his experiences into his own trademark - emotively tortured sounds with unique gravelly vocals and textured synths.

As such, his forthcoming LP 'Circus Tales' will bare these trademarks, as will the upcoming music he'll be releasing under a new label run by himself and Mr White - Social Experiment. Taking it's name from the club nights and mix series No.19 Music had overseen, the label plans to curate only the most compelling focuses in club music.

In February 2016 Midland made his contribution to the hugely influential BBC Essential Mix series. The end of the mix came in the shape of an unreleased track that would go on to soundtrack dance floors and festivals the world over. That track was 'Final Credits.' Since its creation in the depths of winter to its vinyl release in June, with weekly airings everywhere from Panorama Bar to DC10 to Dekmantel Festival, the record has united dance floors and become one of the most unlikely tracks of the year. As the summer disappeared, calls for a full release of 'Final Credits' have swelled, and now, thanks to The Classic Music Company we're delighted to say this is becoming a reality.

-How long have you been creating music?
I've been making music for about 5 years now. First in a duo but recently solo.

-What do you use to make your tracks?
Logic Pro for life!

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
So this is an interesting one actually. Who's Afraid of Detroit was actually one of the first Deep/ Tech House tracks I ever downloaded when I was about 15! So 8 years ago now.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
Oh wow, there are so many I would love to collab with. Would have to be between Will Clarke and Ardalan I'd say.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Another tricky one. So I was at Secret Garden Party a few years back at The Drop stage, it was the last morning and the sun was rising, and this husband and wife duo who I'd never heard of and can't remember the name of, played this INSANE house set. It was really special.

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
I would love to go to 1960s America, for the style and the music. The Rolling Stones man! 

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
A dodo. I know my dumbass would go extinct if I were a bird, I'm quite accident prone haha.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
So I know I'm only new to the label, but there is definitely a family vibe within Dirtybird, I feel like it really let's it's artists express their wackiness, and in a scene which can sometimes be too cool for its own good, that is a huge asset.

-How long have you been creating music?
I first downloaded a DAW about 4 years ago and have never looked back!

-What do you use to make your tracks?
I'm a logic man but very keen to check out Ableton and/or Reason at some point.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?
I first stumbled across Claude when he first dropped "Who's Afraid of Detroit" more than a decade ago and found DB through him.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?
I definitely can't chose just one! But I can narrow it down to Ardalan, Justin Martin or Kyle Watson.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?
Guy Ritchie's Snatch as my life is a just a series of unfortunate events ending in with a fight with a pikey.

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Still my all time favorite was the first time the Arcadia stage was unleashed on the world at Boomtown 2012 (UK). Absolutely blew my lid off!

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
A 90s Acid Rave would go down a RIGHT treat!

-What species of bird best describes you and why?
Common London Pigeon because they're dirty and will eat anything.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?
DB offers the almost unique opportunity to producers who make quirky underground beats to still be heard by the masses and I am incredibly grateful!

Producer and vocalist Kevin Knapp delivers his killer new single Blah Blah Blah, returning to the Hot Creations fold after last years vocal feature on Jamie Jones’ Positive Pressure. Here, Jamie returns the favour, partnering with another label favourite, Detlef, to supply a monster of a remix.

Finding time in his hectic schedule of touring the world, running various record labels and his Paradise parties, Jamie Jones teams up with one of his Paradise residents Detlef to deliver an audacious remix, perfect for the twilight hours. Hardy percussion, acid blips and pulses meld together to form a bolshy, no-frills remix. Greek artist Detlef shot into the limelight in recent years with releases and remixes on labels like Hot Creations, Relief, Knee Deep In Sound, Moon Harbour, and Defected.

Kevin Knapp gained attention with a string collaborations with Audiojack (Gruuv, 2012), Matt Tolfrey (Leftroom, 2012) and his debut Hot Creations cut with Richy Ahmed (2013). A prolific producer and featured vocalist since 2011, Kevin has released on the likes of Hottrax, Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird, Mother Recordings and more.
