Advent – A coming, or an arrival, a coming into being or use. 

Quite an appropriate name for Cisco Ferreira, a man who has played a big part in the creation and development of Techno from the very beginning of this genre’s history. Indeed, his Techno CV is the stuff of legend. Cisco was producing Techno and performing live Techno shows years before the rest of the world had even heard of the genre. He released his first track in 1988, was a pioneer of the Live PA (or Live Public Address – performing Techno live in front of an audience using electronic music gear), and, if all that wasn’t enough, he even worked as the sound engineer on some of Derrick May’s, Adonis & Fingers Inc’s recording sessions! 

The list goes on, and so does Cisco. Unlike other Techno pioneers from the early years, Cisco continues to produce with as much passion and frequency as he did back in the day. His releases on Labels Like Tresor, Rotation, Electrix, Kanzleramt, Dj Gigolos, Pure Plastic, Synewave plus many more is just another example of his ongoing pursuit to keep making music and pushing Techno to new boundaries. 

Cisco was born to Portuguese parents on the island of Madeira (Portugal). His family moved to London (1975) when he was five years old, setting the stage for his musical career. While at Paddington College (1986) in West London, he studied sound engineering and secured a job after graduation as an assistant sound engineer at ZOLOU Then later WALL Studios.  

At this period is when he really started to learn about Sound & Production, his 1st main recording sessions as an engineer were rock & “Inde” based bands & the studio owners being in successful rock bands. Matt Dangerfield & John Payne “ASIA” this 1st step was a start in learning about balancing & mixing down the rock way, which had a lot of intense & Raw energy especially on drums & Guitars.. 

Other bands Cisco did sessions for: P.I.L. (John Lydon - sex pistols) – Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) – That petrol emotion. Then Later Pop, Dance, Soul & reggae groups like: Wild Bunch (Nelly hopper & Massive Attack) – Marco Pirroni (Adam & the ants) - Maxi Priest – Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie) – Loose Ends – Cheryl Lynn… 

1987 Cisco began going to clubs and learning about this new thing called Acid House, which was spreading like crazy throughout London’s underground scene, culminating in the famous “Summer of Love” in 1988, the genre’s golden period. 

Around this time, a record label called, Jack Trax, “One of the 1st to release Acid House, House & techno in UK” moved in next door and began using the same studio for recording sessions, with Cisco as the engineer working with Fingers Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson & Derrick May. Cisco released his first record in 1988 on Ferrari records (R&S records) Then later “Cisco Ferreira” EP on Fragile. 

His first big break came in 1994, when he and fellow Londonite Colin McBean (a.k.a. Mr. G) were brought on by Internal Records to help co-produce a group called Salt Tank. A record contract with Internal/FFRR soon followed, committing The Advent to 12 EP’s and 3 albums.

Today, The Advent goes on just as Cisco Ferreira. While he has had a long history with tons of accomplishments to hang his hat on, he continues to make history. The Advent is fulfilling Cisco’s vision as much as ever. He is busy touring as both a DJ and a live performer, producing for numerous labels, and running his own Techno imprint, Kombination Research. 

As Cisco moves forward, striving to fulfill the ambitious goals he has set one can look back at his storied past and see how he has come full circle… The Saga continues.

His productions are crafted with high quality and finesse, and his sound is characterized by influences of Organic House and Melodic Techno, with touches of tribal grooves and involving melodies.

His talent and recognition are certified after multiple appearances on renowned channels and blogs such as House Mag, DJ Mag Brasil, DJ Mag España, Data Transmission, Electronic Groove, Sweet Musique and others. Throughout his journey, Althoff's music has taken him on worldwide performances, from his home in Brazil, to the most relevant music scenes in Europe such as London and Barcelona.

Giovanni G. aka Knowhat, also known for his longer established Mr. High alias, is a Sicilian born, London based DJ and Producer who bursted onto the scene when he was only 15 years old. Securing his position as a renowned DJ while in Sicily, after winning a stream of various contests and competitions, Knowhat has quickly grasped the art of music production and started crafting his own discography filled with driving drums and swelling house hooks.  

Playing along with the likes of renowned artists such as Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Livio & Roby, Oliver Huntemann, Layo & Bushwacka, Nicole Moudaber, Tiefschwarz, Oliver Klein, ‪Steve Lawler‬, ‪Marco Carola‬, Paco Osuna among many others, Knowhat became a regular on the International DJ circuit. His uplifting tech-house sets captivate audience anywhere he goes leading him to have appeared on major events such as ‪Gianpula Festival (Malta), Heineken Festival, Rizla Event, Harry Klein, DJ Mag Live as well as reputable clubs like EGG London, Ibiza Rocks, E1 London, Studio 338 and many more.‬

Pulling influences from his own musical background Knowhat continues to make an impact on the industry by delivering a unique sound of his own. His debut release on NONSTOP Records has been accompanied by remarkable remixes from Max Chapman and Tripmastaz. One of his key releases in 2018 being "Feel It EP", both vinyl and digital, including a Basti Grub remix on EGG London’s club What Came First Rec. 2019 has kicked off greatly with another further step up by releasing "The Magician" on Riva Starr's renowned Snatch! Records. More than this, Knowhat's records have also shined on BBC Radio 1 as well as picked by Saifam (Italy), a large-scale record label.  

Thanks to his hard working nature and unconditional passion for music, this year looks set to be Knowhat’s best while continuing to thrive and expand his geographic presence at a fast pace.

Alfa Romero is the multi faceted duo comprised of Marzio and Lorenzo. Both highly acclaimed musicians in their own right, the pair combine their many years of experience in electronic music for their all-encompassing Alfa Romero project. Working together as producers and DJs, the duo explore a shared musical vision in a partnership that aims to broaden the horizons of electronic music.

As producers, Alfa Romero share a passion for club friendly music. Although their tracks keep the focus on the dancefloor itself, they come with rich colours, deep emotions and strong rhythms. Their deft ability at weaving subtle melodies into the mix also enables them to create moments of beauty that are rarely seen on dancefloors elsewhere. Moreover, together with other members of the project, the well affirmed musicians Stefano Onorati and Andrea Guzzoletti, they are working on a live set in which music and synthesizers merge with delicate symphonies. A unique team in so many ways, they are unmistakably Alfa Romero.

Davide is not available for comment. He’s got to catch a flight; he’s rushing to the studio; the stage manager is frantically hurrying him into the booth; he’s meeting to discuss plans for his labels…or any of the other myriad reasons why Davide feels like he hasn’t slept, eaten or stopped running for what seems like his whole life.

Born in Siena, raised in Naples, it took a trip to London for Davide to finally discover electronic music. Wooed by the mood and sound of the British scene, he returned to Naples flush with energy, excitement and a knowing that this new calling would consume him. 

Davide immersed himself in this world in every conceivable way. In 1999 he began studying at the Naples’ school of sound engineering, tinkering with his first productions, promoting techno events, and finally performing. His first releases on Primate Records, Design Music andConform were a cadence of his arrival and showcased the young artist’s steadfast style.

Having honed his craft at home, in 2004 Davide left Naples for Barcelona unwavering in his resolve. Now, while touring around the continent, he began to release in earnest what would become a massive body of work, and at a dizzying pace. His productions have graced the catalogs of some of the finest labels including Ovum, Sci+Tec, Morris Audio, Resopal Schallware, Supernature, CMYK, Adagio, Viva, Nervous, Saved, Shake, Rillis; the list goes on… 

Added to that, you have to take into account the labels which Davide founded and still curatestoday – Sketch, Minisketch, Vir, 500, Titbit and Hideout. 2012 sees the start of Davide’s latest innovative project. This and That Lab will be a unique fusion of label and think tank combining music, art and culture used as a platform for Davide and other like minded artists to develop creative projects in music, visual art, design, fashion and writing.

In addition to his genre-defining works, Davide continues to inspire and ignite dancefloors worldwide. Whether it be at Circoloco, where he has been a resident since 2007, Womb, Berghain, D.Edge, or any other marquee venue, Davide plays with an unequalled funk and excitement. His signature sets, revered by the masses and peers alike, do a double duty in guarding our much-loved traditions while constantly pushing them forward.

The realm of possibilities for one of electronic music’s leading lights is endless. Unfortunately, the minutes in the day are not. Davide’s answer is simple – do what you love and make no compromises.
