@perpetually-pessimistic: They're tricky to find but keep an eye out for a Viola Da Gamba - similar idea.  They're everywhere.  New tunes - maybe this month.  Parenting has turned out to be an intensive sport...!

Really beautiful track!! Reminds me a bit of La Folia variations! Fascinated by the guitarviol--never heard of it till now. Have always loved music for viols--and now a guitarviol? Have to check this out!! Great track!

Every note of this came from a really real instrument.  Mainly my guitarviol and a nylon string guitar.  It's a funny form.  



By the by, it's not a cello or violin folks but a Guitarviol.  Amazing instrument.

When I read the title of Milana's open collaboration (@milanazilnik)I thought on terms like devil, armageddon. Like if a dark age, the age of the evil is coming. 
And though the end-result is not sounding so evil classical music is often related to ancient times, when people still believed in things like this heavily influenced by priests and religion. In our modern times the believe on the personified devil is gone, but if I just switch on the News on TV I think sometimes, that there are some devils on work, so maybe he is still around.
About the recording: I have transcribed the melody of Milana's track to develop a good line for the violin. Later I recognised, that she also had provided a midi-track, which could be easily translated in notation, so the transcription was unnecessary, but transcribing something is always a good training for the ears.
Anyway I shouldered the violin and just recorded a single violin-line to achieve something like a classical chamber-music.

How wonderfully malleable is music? I grew up and live in a country drowning in music of so many sounds. 

I dabble with all sorts of styles and genres but I like to think that it all still sounds like me. 

There's no grand mission for me on Soundcloud beyond finding music that I love and dialoging with other musicians. 

I'm always open to suggestions for collaboration and other adventures.

I don't repost here - not because I'm a miserable person but just because I use this page to sell my wares so to speak. That said I do listen to music on here religiously and I'm very proactive in sharing it around and building links with people that might like the sounds I find appealing. 

I'm working on ways of getting more people from outside Soundcloud plugged in to the wonderful art on display here. I do my bit!
