By track twelve, “SEX FOR MONEY” dips into enigma territory with Texture’s remix of “consume my flesh”. The_Texture is one of those names you hear whispered in producer circles, more myth than man—and this being his first drum & bass track only makes it more impressive. You’d never guess it, though. This one holds its own against the heavyweights.

It lives in that perfect minimalist pocket: groovy enough to keep bodies moving, restrained enough to feel intentional, but with just enough distortion and punk grit from the original to keep it dangerous. There’s a smooth, liquid undercurrent here, but it still packs the kind of raw energy that makes you want to get reckless on the dance floor.

As a fresh take on the duo’s first single, it’s shockingly competitive with the other remixes scattered across the album. The_Texture doesn’t fail to impress with his take on “consume my flesh” at all—he reimagines it, making it as ready for a dark warehouse set as it is for your headphones.

As one of the founders of Chicago’s  G.E.T.O. DJz and an honorary member of Teklife, TRAXMAN continues to spread Chicago’s kinetic and syncopated sound of Footwork worldwide.

TRAXMAN shares stories about his upbringing and musical influences as he walks us down memory lane of how it all began for his incredible music career.
