Biography:
Resident #6 on So What! Radioshow
A pioneer of the rave scene and electronic music events since 1994 in Canada, he is the founder of Mental Crew Productions since 2004 and is still active in organizing events. For 10 years, Micky Mental was director and promoter of several big clubs including Sona and Aria, two of the biggest “afterhours” in Montreal.
Micky Mental has been a DJ since 1996 and has performed in several clubs and events in various locations in America.
With a 25 year career as promoter, organizer, artistic director as well as DJ of several events, he is renowned as the first to have introduced and made known several DJs from different countries for the first time in Canada.
He hired 150 international DJs who collaborated with him in 17 raves, bringing together more than 3,000 people, among others, at the Bell Center, the Olympic Stadium, Jarry Park and the Metropolis.
Artist manager, Micky Mental has owned 2 labels: Infiltration Record and Ourway Recording.
Referred to as the "master" of techno events, he is the recipient of three MiMi'S Award for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 event of the year for the "The Arrival" electronic music festival, and is featured on the front page of the Journal de Montreal and La Presse.

I was born in Chicago, Ill and grew up under the influences of artist like, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, The Isley Bros. and Parliament. I had a smooth jazz influence as well which helped shaped my style and genre of choice.
I've always admired how club DJ's did the things they were capable of doing and keeping the dance floor bouncing and transitioning between tracks... I was awed. I had to learn how to do that. So, with two cheap turn-tables and what would have to pass as a mixer I played some home gigs nothing much.
Fast forward my influencers are Ms. Monique, VLKN, Zaria, Shasha, TBK, Pan Pot, ARTBAT, ION, So What Radio and so many other professional influencers and creators and artist that continue to support - not just me but so many others on - this their soundful journey through the underground.
SoundCloud has truly opened the door for new talents and expressions to share to our sometimes confused planet.
I've only been DJ'ing for a little of two years and find myself in evolution. I find I and tracks I lay on my jogs always begin with a listen. When I listen. I see. I feel. I move.
Then I'm able to flow upon and within the energy of each sound that I encounter. It's really beautiful when you learn music tones and soundscapes. Even without theory or education. Learning can be achieved and shared with others.
