Zillas on Acid make their Inside Out Records debut with an EP showered in hope for a better summer. “A Wonderful Time in a Terrible Club” is certain to become a favourite for the dancefloors, joined closely by “Not Really”, thanks to the latter’s addictive acid hook and vocals. The genius Fantastic Twins breaks from working on her own projects to morph “Wonderful Time in a Terrible Club” into a psychedelic, magical journey. “You You You You” has the more trademark Zillas hypnotic groove, with Black Merlin warping its vocals and bending the track into a darker, more ambient 10-minute re creation. Charlie (Carlos Franco) & Kali (Luis Vallespín), when in studio, let the juice flow and fail to disappoint when it comes to seaming together their most personal influences. The result is a powerful acid-meets-stamina-meets-groove devoted-to-the-dance-floor concoction.

Their freshest endeavour lands now on NEIN: The “Chicken & Drugs” EP comes fried and crispy with three outstanding originals and two well-constructed remixes made with love by Ian Vale and Shkema. Premiered here, the latter’s version.

While the original tells its story in 110 BPM, the interpretation of the rising “weird producer and weird DJ” from Lithuania shows its credentials in 116. For his account, Shkema brought the theme to his realm by ripping off the arpeggios and the fat and adding a more frolic and, yes, “weird” gait, somebody would say. We liked it!

In 1978 Bernard Fevre decided to pretty much invent cosmic disco. The former library music producer had turned his hand to deliciously dark disco a few years before, but it was underground smash 'H-Friend' that really made him a force to be reckoned with on dancefloors the globe round. Well, apart from the fact that that record was, at the time, incredibly obscure. He then went from relative obscurity to total disappearance. 

In 2004 Rephlex reissued the Disco Club EP and a star was reborn. This time around, Alter K have decided to get a tonne of great acts to give Fevre a going over for a series of EPs. 

Today we're bringing you an exclusive listen to the "dance" EP featuring remixes from Africaine 808, Turzi, DJ Tide, and the legendary Andrew Weatherall.

Musically and emotionally, Superpitcher’s third full-length studio album, The Golden Ravedays is a one sound autobiography that exhibits the skill, feeling and style that the artist has honed over a period of twenty years, musically, and forty-plus- years, emotionally. And full-length it is: The Golden Ravedays is an epic album of 24 longer than usual tracks that was released in January 2017 and is stretching over 12 respective chapter albums during a one-year period.

The 11th edition of The Golden Ravedays album will be released on Hippie Dance in November 2017. Side A brings Brothers. With two decades of spinning experience in disco’s, nightclubs, festival arenas, shady after-party zones and intimate studio soirees there is no doubt that Superpitcher is seasoned in throwing a damn good party. Brothers is party personified and a celebration of the night and the wise owls that respect its magical rituals. Its ultra-chic disco groove and dreamy female vocals transport one to a carnival of blessings.

Side B features Sleepy Head, a hypnotic lullaby carefully tucked away in a hammock that rocks to and fro like dozing mermaids in a wavy curtain of seaweed. Sleepy Head is a smart artistic statement and whimsical pause just before the release of the grand finale of the The Golden Ravedays saga.

Franz Scala was last spotted on Boredllo A Parigi back in 2016 - he makes the move to Bahnsteig 23 for this bold record of synth pop, early electro and much more besides. "Anacondas" has a cheery tone, all sunny synth lines and a laid back boogie rhythm section, while "Thai City" is more like a scratchy beat track for DJs to get clever with. "Shadow Dancer" is one of the record's stand out moments - a muscular pop burner for all 80s romancers to get emotional and funky to. "Rascals" finishes the EP off with some seriously tough drums and some body-popping electro styles that should go down a storm on the floor.

Fresh from the release of Phillips, his debut solo album for Running Back, Lauer, one half of Arto Mwambe, releases the Macsat Ring Down 12” for Beats In Space Records.

Like the satellite that it cites, Lauer’s “Macsat Ring Down” follows an elliptic pattern fit for infinite play on any space floor. On “Mascat”, analog space junk flies in and out of an orbital framework built upon nearly nine minutes of bubbling bass and peripheral percussion. Space boogie at its finest.

An anti-gravity exercise in repetition, Lee Douglas remixes "Macsat" for the flipside. Reaching a zen state through mantra-like looping that would make Steve Reich proud, Douglas reworks Lauer’s sounds from a delicate and pensive place to a muscular and propulsive groove. Most if not all of the synthesized glitter from the original is eventually forgone in favor of blasted percussion and an unrelenting bassline.

The digital bonus remix by The Backwoods - aka DJ Kent, one half of Tokyo’s Force of Nature - floats “Macsat” back to earth. The soulful piano that backbones the track conjures sunrises off the shores of Orion and a galactic hangover from all the space juicin’. The Backwoods brings some brawn to the original arrangement and allows alien interception by way of a mangled but melodic celestial sound choir.

Each 12" from Beats in Space Records features original artwork in considerate and serial form. BIS004 12" features artwork by Kensei Yabuno, whose mutant life form illustrations lurk in corners all over the design universe. The 12" packaging constructed by Will Work For Good features a removable vinyl BIS logo cling. The 12" will be available on September 25th, 2012 from fine retailers worldwide. The digital version will be available October 2nd, 2012 from the drab internet universe.
