Christmas has come early this year with The PDC gifting us Volume 22 of the TOASTCAST 

The PDC’s passion for electronic music was ignited, like many, in Melbourne’s indie/electro scenes of the late 2000s. A few years living in Amsterdam in the early part of the last decade exposed the PDC to the real meaning of deep house music. 

Upon returning to Melbourne, PDC discovered the city had a burgeoning scene with access to key underground DJs from abroad. The Australian techno dream is that of endless beaches, space, and freedom in the bush, combined with soulful sounds of the underground.

An avid wax enthusiast, The PDC sees vinyl records as the heritage of the spirit of house music, to be rediscovered and shared at intimate, smaller, less dusty parties. The process of stumbling on a sound outside the algorithm driven space of the world wide cyber cloud keeps the glowing embers of countless bygone underground scenes alive.

The People’s Dance Collective is an African born and raised producer/DJ that calls Melbourne, Australia home. 

The PDC is inspired by the euphoria of trance, the rugged nature of electro, and the deep emotional vibes of house.  

The PDC sets are energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics. He inhabits a space where throwback house bombs sit comfortably with electroclash and techno.

Ben hails from Melbourne originally but spent almost 20 years growing up overseas - living in Africa and Asia, and travelling all over the world. This international upbringing has translated across to a diverse taste in music and unique approach to production.

Since returning to Melbourne he has immersed himself in its electronic music and festival scene, hosting notable underground events at parks, beaches, warehouses, and venues all across the city.

All the while becoming a talented DJ, he has played at some of Melbourne’s best clubs - including Revolver, Glamorama, My Aeon, Bourke St Courtyard, 524 Flinders, Colour, Brown Alley, and Electric, among others. 

The last year has seen him go from strength to strength, with a debut single release breaking into the Beatport charts, various podcast releases including a set for the renowned Flow Music series, and recent festival slots at Let Them Eat Cake and Beyond The Valley to top it off. 

With a focus on pushing an emotive brand of dance music, Mode B has a layered and varied sound that effortlessly straddles between melodic, progressive, afro house, and indie dance. 

His debut track 'Pertama' peaked at #74 in the Progressive House Top 100 hype charts on Beatport, and the VA Compilation it featured on peaked at #9 on the Progressive House Charts and #27 on the Melodic House and Techno Charts.

With a debut EP currently in the works, stay tuned to hear more of his original works in the near future!
