Thomas Lumley from Aberdyfi on the west coast of Mid-Wales. Graduating with a first class BA honors degree from Leeds College of Music winning the coveted David Holt Saxophone Prize. Thomas' skills lie in his uncanny improvisational ability and unique creative compositional approach to the jazz and free improv idiom. With influences from the modern jazz world (Coltrane, Steve Coleman, Zorn etc.) along with keen interests in Contemporary Improvised music (Bailey, Evan Parker, ICP, AECM), Balkan folk music, Hindustani Classical music, Afro Cuban music and DIY Avant Guard Electronica Thomas' style has very broad yet totally original influences. 
 
 
Thomas' main musical focus is involved with the acute and detailed processes of improvisation and how it can be squeezed, manipulated and synthesised with elements from separate genres and academic processes from the contemporary classical world to produce wonderfully elaborate music that inspires both the the mind and the spirit. One such example of this in Thomas’ music is his use of Dutch composer Peter Schatt’s Tone Clock; a twelve tone system that uses varying combinations of intervals to produce 12 unique modes or “hours” . 
 
 
After Graduation in 2012 from CODARTS Conservatory in Rotterdam as a Master of Music (funded by the Arts Council of Wales’ Advanced study award program) Thomas has toured the UK and Europe extensively with many different projects the most notable being Leeds based critically acclaimed group Omnivore, Rotterdam (NL) Based Hip-Hop group The Refreshed Orchestra and the Cologne (DE) based free improv groups Blemishes and Damsels in Distress.
 
 
Having performed with many artists, names including Claude Deppa, Tony Allen (Fela Kuti), Brian Jackson (Gil Scott-Heron), Mathew Bourne, Frank Vigroux, Chris Sharkey (Acoustic Lady Land, Trio Vd), Dave Kane, Huw Warren, along with being a previously active Member of LIMA (Leeds improvised Music Association. )Thomas is now based in London, UK and is currently writing for London based new music/improvising trio New World Order and Solo Project THL Solo.

Craig Scott's Lobotomy is the latest musical adventure to seep out of the fertile Leeds (UK) music scene where experimental
jazz rubs shoulders with Electronica and DIY alternative rock. As the self-proclaimed creator and leading exponent of the 'medio core' genre, the music of Craig Scott's Lobotomy is a bubbling cauldron of conventional and experimental sounds. Live improvisations are pulled apart, transformed by crudely home-made noise producing / altering paraphernalia and then intricately re-constructed with digital audio software . The result is a Fankenstein's monster scaling the 'uncanny valley'. Part human , part machine and revelling the glory   and error of both.

Como creador autoproclamado y máximo exponente del género del "medio-core ', la música de Lobotomy Craig Scott es un caldero burbujeante de los sonidos convencionales y experimentales. Improvisaciones en vivo se separan, transformado por crudamente casera producir ruido / alterar parafernalia y luego intrincadamente reconstruido con software de audio digital. El resultado es una escala Fankenstein del monstruo del "valle extraño". Parte humana, parte máquina y disfrutando de la gloria y
error de ambos.

Le fil du temps se remplit à l'infini d'instants... Mon souhait serait d'habiller ces tout petits moments comme on costume un petit théâtre : les vêtir d'un rien, d'un silence, d'une chaise vide, d'un coussin tendre, d'un son soyeux, d'un plein et d'un délié, du son d'un mouvement du corps en action, d'un geste de la voix, de l'harmonie qui se compose entre tout ça, d'une construction de l'espace objet et de l'espace sonore, d'une composition qui se déploie à la minute qui passe... mon souhait serait d'habiter un moment du présent qui se donne. 

Pour d'écrire mon travail créatif : il se construit sur deux axes de réflexion : le premier prend toujours en considération la relation à autrui, tandis que le second souligne et dénote les gestes qui opèrent alors en corrélation. L'autre être qui peut nous écouter, nous voir, nous sentir, nous parler, nous recevoir, nous montrer, nous donner... et à chaque fois je note, dénote, transcris les gestes, les actions... et finalement les histoires qui se construisent entre nous... pour ce faire mon travail s'appuie sur une production plastique, musicale, écrite, où la performance de l'instant présent livre aux souvenirs des traces aussi précieuses que les objets qui sont échangés. D'une simple conversation du regard, au partage d'une bulle de savon, d'un poème de la vie courante écrit sur les lignes de la main (ou le contraire d'un poème de la main écrit sur les lignes de la vie courante) à une parole en l'air, d'un prospectus à une mise en question taggée, d'un rêve illustré à une réalité décrite, je suis tour à tour Marchand d'idées, Marchand de sables, directeur du musée de la mémoire et de l'oubli, chercheur au centre de découverte des gestes inutiles et des actes sans conséquences, fonctionnaire au centre administratif de la vie par voix thérapeutique, démonstrateur au centre de soin esthétique, acteur avec la compagnie du temps, donneur de voix, prêteur de geste, poète des présents que l'on fait.
