LITE is an instrumental rock band from Japan, and happens to be one of my favorite bands for the last 10 years. In celebration of them touring the west coast of the US, I learned, arranged, recorded, filmed, edited, and released a cover of one of my favorite songs of theirs - Sequel to the Letter, from the Phantasia album. I learned all the parts by ear and reproduced relatively faithfully. I transposed the whole song up a half-step to keep open string playing in standard tuning. I used an Artiphon Instrument 1 to play the bass and synths, replacing cello in the original song with synths. It was a fantastic learning experience, and even a 10 year old song put me to the limits of my ability to play.
