Housing two arresting debut vinyl productions, SR002 showcases sonic versatility from both fresh perspectives of newcomers and respected producers. Each track is linked through poised sound-design from the deep corners of techno. 

Opening the A-side, Oguz meticulously balances roughness with seduction, combining rolling drum-patterns with flashing percussive elements to ignite an atmosphere perfect for hot, sweaty dance sessions. Stepping away from a more industrial sound, ‘808 B1tches in Bret’ emanates a free-spirited attitude. 

Venturing into a headier, grittier realm, ‘Simulation Respawned’ is laced with an undeniable restlessness. The peak-time track explores dark sonic textures, positioning dancer as a producer with a merciless approach on his debut vinyl release. 

Creating a fresh contrast, Obscure Shape switches the B-side with a minimalistic ambience that unfolds through bubbling layers of sound. ‘What Connects Us?’ maintains sonic depth in a delicate and subtle way, driving the dancefloor forward in an unbeknown journey of hypnosis. 

Unexpected rhythmic switches and patterns of stark, looping melodies cement Italian producer Valentina Miceli’s debut release. ‘Fact One’ aptly rounds off SR002 with a pounding and functional 4x4 production. 

SEXYRECS entices an intimate, steamy club setting with SR002.

From the outset, 'Magallanes' asserts itself with rolling drum patterns and pulsating synths, locking listeners into its hypnotic rhythm. Hypnotic synth pulses weave through the track, building tension gradually until it breaks into a dense, rhythmic crescendo.

Next up, 'Turn the Tables' lives up to its name, amplifying the energy with snapping hi-hats, deep bass momentum, and restrained synth modulations. A functional yet immersive trip through layered percussive textures.

The B-side offers a deeper, more atmospheric twist.
'Cycle Break' channels a groove-heavy, tribal-infused flow, using intricate rhythmic interplay and distant, metallic textures to create a track that breathes and expands across the mix.

Rounding out the release, 'Set A Dot' leans into pure forward motion, with skittering percussion, sharp synths, and a rolling low-end pulse, making it a go-to tool for seamless DJ layering and extended club sets.

Since beginning his music career in 2002 and debuting on Monoid Recordings, Toru Ikemoto has been recognized as a prominent producer/DJ in the global techno scene.
Releasing on renowned international labels such as SYXT, WSNWG, SUARA, BCCO, Room Trax, NECHTO, and QUARTZREC, his tracks—played by top artists including Richie Hawtin, Rødhåd, MARRØN, Joseph Capriati, and Hito—have earned high acclaim on dance floors at clubs and festivals worldwide.

In 2021, he founded his own label, Chimera Recordings, followed by the co-founding of Aum Recordings in 2022. His releases, including EPs featuring remixes by globally recognized artists, have received critical praise across the industry.

Alongside his work as an artist, Toru has over 15 years of experience teaching DJing and music production, and is one of the few Ableton Certified Trainers in Japan. He is also the founder of the DJ/DTM school yell0w, where he is committed to nurturing the next generation of artists.

In this Gumroad Masterclass, Toru shares the expertise honed through years of production and international releases.
