Savage 6th Anniversary presents - Re:Axis / @re_axis 

Re:Axis is the artistic project of Portuguese producer José Diogo Correia, born in 1984 in Northern Portugal. His journey into music began early—by the age of six, he was already learning classical piano and acoustic guitar, showing a natural affinity for musical expression.

As he grew, José Diogo pursued formal training at the Jazz School of Porto, where he honed his skills in piano, harmony, and improvisation. He later expanded his expertise by studying Engineering and Sound Design in Lisbon. This blend of artistic and technical education laid a strong foundation for his future in electronic music production.

The Re:Axis project officially launched in 2006, initially as a collaboration with fellow artist Hélder Vasconcelos. However, since 2010, José Diogo has led the project solo, shaping its identity with a distinct sonic vision. His music explores the realms of experimental dance, techno, ambient, and deep atmospheric soundscapes, aiming to create immersive experiences that transcend conventional entertainment.

Driven by a desire for artistic coherence and a unique identity, Re:Axis navigates between minimalist and dense forms of techno, always preserving a personal signature. His work is not just about rhythm and beats—it’s about crafting a sonic journey that resonates deeply with listeners.

Beyond producing music, José Diogo also founded two record labels: Monocline Records and Aurora Mística. These platforms serve as outlets for his creative output and support the broader electronic music community. Today, he continues to compose, produce, and perform at clubs and events, maintaining a strong commitment to aesthetic quality, sonic detail, and the authenticity of the musical experience.

This is the set I recorded at Omg Events in Oslo, where I was invited to play on September 20th, a special day as it also marked the release of my LP on Soria Records.
I don’t usually record my sets, in fact, this is the first time I’ve ever done it, so I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did playing it for that amazing crowd!

Here we present a live recording from Franko sourced deep within the Norwegian woods at this years Fragments forest event.

Words from the artist - 

This recording is from my closing set at the second forest rave we hosted with Fragments in the Norwegian woods this summer – a night that turned into our biggest production so far, and one I’m really proud of.

The set starts in complete darkness, slowly building in tempo and groove, shifting into lighter melodies and psychedelic playfulness as the sun began to rise. Morning sets like these are some of my favorites: balancing the ups and downs, keeping people on the floor without pushing too hard, while leaving space to breathe. A mix of joy, freedom, and the quiet melancholy of summer coming to an end.

As the sun rose over the hill behind me, we decided to extend the set by half an hour to let the first rays hit the dance floor through the smoke and create a truly magical morning. It gave me the chance to play some of the most beautiful tracks I know and gently bring everything to a halt. It was definitely one of the most fun and meaningful moments I’ve had behind the decks.

DJ Set recorded at The Gathering Festival, hosted by Atmos.Lab Records in Celerico Da Beira, Portugal.

After releasing on the label in 2024, it was a pleasure to play for the Atmos.Lab crew at this beautiful, intimate gathering.

It was the first of my three gigs in Portugal, and my first time performing in Europe.

This set perfectly summarises where I'm at musically, and where I have built my sound since taking my first steps as a DJ and producer almost 8 years ago.

Expect a number of different vibes and techno sub-genres throughout the mix. Achieving this flow has been something I've been refining for a while and I'm stoked with the end result.
