On 21st September the rising French DJ/producer Simo Cell presents new mini album ‘YES.DJ’ – his first solo record since 2018 – released on his own label TEMƎT. A celebration of dance music culture, each of these heavy-duty, titanium-plated bangers are a tribute to different styles of beats, reinterpreted and suffused with his distinct personality.

The release also comes with a fanzine, which continues the celebration of DJing and dancefloors from a sideways perspective, curating photos taken by Simo of drinks tokens from clubs around the world.

At long last, hi-tek whizz-kid Metrist returns to Timedance with the third addition to the ‘Pollen’ series and brings his epic trilogy started in 2019 to a breath-catching end. 

Elevating an already unique approach of sonic craftsmanship to whole new levels, the London based producer delivers some of his wildest and most dramatic compositions to date while pushing further his signature blend of 22nd century dancefloor pyrotechnics.  

From the angelic vocal cascades of opener « Leven Lever Liver Love » to the heart-wrenching heights of « Bullet Time », a playful and intricate display of cross-pollinated emotions shines through this collection of boundary pushing tracks, giving them a life of their own while bringing to completion a stormy cycle of auditory experiments into human nature. 

As thunderstorms form, pollen grains often ascend into clouds, soaking up humidity to a point they inevitably burst out, liberating innumerable particles that tumultuous winds send back to ground-levels. 

With a false sense of distance and safety, we sit back and watch the lightning strike in complete awe, unaware of pollen slowly descending from the skies, making its way through our lungs and deep into our bodies : the storm may be over, but Pollen has now fully become a part of us.

Objekt launches his new label, Kapsela, with a 10-year anniversary reissue of his lauded production ‘Ganzfeld’. An ambitious, evocative electro/IDM epic with cavernous drums and a riotously funky bass solo, Ganzfeld was initially released in 2014 on Leisure System as the B-side of Hypnagogia, a split EP with Detroit electro pioneers Dopplereffekt. It quickly garnered critical acclaim (including Track Of The Year by Resident Advisor) and amassed a cult following despite clocking in at 147bpm, a relatively unwieldy tempo for most DJs at the time. Given the seismic shifts in tempo and genre that have taken place in the 10 years since and the emergence of a new generation of producers with whom Ganzfeld’s influence has resonated, 2024 seemed like the perfect moment for a re-release.

Commissioning remixes for the first time, Objekt enlists Djrum, who delivers a jaw-dropping 10-minute rendition which weaves through multiple genres and tempos with the cinematic flair of a short film score. Milan’s Piezo contributes a taut, prickly interpretation that builds tension at 80bpm before exploding into a cathartic double-time closer. Finally, US ambient artist Ulla fully deconstructs the original into a serene, undulating lullaby.

Copenhagen-based record label Katharsis prepare to release the much-anticipated 'Modular' LP from local artist and composer Simon Littauer...The standout track from the album is ‘Xenon’ - a relentless barrage of feverish breaks slice through a dense haze of cyber-minded synth waves and throbbing bass to create this interplanetary treasure. As the piece builds to a frenzied crescendo, deconstructed drum patterns morph into a dance formula that is both puzzling and ethereal.

A longtime friend and collaborator of Simo Cell, Dubois and Simo first discovered and learned Ableton together in their early days around 2010, experimenting and refining their craft side by side. Old Feeling is a release close to TEMƎT’s heart; watching friends grow, evolve, and finally take flight. And what a debut! It’s hard to imagine a first EP more iconic and fully realized than this.
