“Angel from Montgomery” by John Prine is about a middle-aged woman who feels older than her years, and her desire to escape her marriage and home.
Prine wrote the song after a friend suggested writing a song about older people, and Prine was drawn to the idea of a woman who feels older than she is. The song's lyrics include, “I am an old woman named after my mother” and “How the hell can a person go to work in the morning/And come home in the evening and have nothing to say”.
Prine chose Montgomery as the song's setting because he was a fan of Hank Williams, who had ties to the city."           Google AI

My admiration for Henry Purcell is evident in this piece. I am personally quite attached to this piece- it reflects the feeling of something that is sacred inside me.
