A Sunday afternoon delight from two of techno's most beloved heavy-hitters arrives exclusively on our Soundcloud.

Berlin techno viking and founder of Dystopian Records Rødhåd and the young, accomplished and Mote-Evolver regular Rene Wise have released their 4 hour set recording from March 2023, a huge B2B session that saw the pair delve in and out of eachother’s company for our last Continuum party. They played an extended set during the final Continuum 24+hour party of the season this Spring. 

The session, which started at 4pm as the tail end of the afternoon drew in and went on til 8pm ahead of a closing set from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, proved to be one of our highlights from the event. It's a real treat to be able to share the full recording; smashers from the get-go that takes us through the hard and heavy, to the atmospheric and energetic.

Lock in below and transport to the incomparable energy of Room 1 on a Sunday afternoon. Sometimes, we reckon, there's no place like it.

Recording of my Live Act at Jardim Sonoro, in Lisbon. I used two controllers to control Ableton (108 knobs & 12 buttons) and an Erica Synths Perkons (also processed in Ableton in real time). 95‰ of the synth ideas you hear were created in the moment. No scene launch in ableton whatsoever. Let me know if you find the 5% pre recorded beats :D

It’s a completely raw recording, no level adjustment, no mastering and no editing (yes you can hear a little crash on my computer near the end).

On July 21st 2018 I played a set at the Boombox club in London E17 as a part of Gordie's 72nd birthday celebrations. 
For those who don't know, Gordie is legendary figure on the London squat party scene who used to bang out (and still does from time to time) the fiercest and fastest hard acid Techno most notably on "Underground Sound" sound system, and I used to play alongside him most weekends during the late nineties and early 2000s. 
This was a bit of a reunion and a chance for all his old friends and sparring partners to wish him a happy birthday .. I played for an hour and Gordie played after me and the vibe was as lit as it used to be back in those days. 
This set is a re-recording of the one I played that night featuring all the same records plus a few extras that i couldn't quite fit in. 
Very much a flashback to the sound I used to play at the massive squatted warehouses back then..  Happy Birthday Gordie !!

After being introduced to electronic music back in the early 90's in Los Angeles, a teenage David Flores was hooked. He started DJing across Southern California on the DIY warehouse, backyard, desert, and rave circuit. His style then was as varied as the local scene - a myriad of sounds ranging from house to acid to techno to hardcore. After a few years solely DJing, he began releasing original music under the monikers David F & Audio Injection, which landed him on labels such as Monoid, Stimulus, 4 Track & LA label Droid Recordings. His association with Droid Behavior began in 2003 as resident at the now defunct yet infamous and internationally acclaimed Interface event series alongside Drumcell and Raiz. He currently runs a new event series together with Drumcell and Oktaform named “Observe”.

In early 2011, he started the project Truncate to focus on the deeper, raw side of techno. His Truncate releases early on gained critical acclaim from world class underground talent such as Modeselektor, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Speedy J, DVS1, Luke Slater, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Eats Everything, Joris Voorn, and many more. Since then, he has provided remixes for artists across the musical spectrum including Kink, Slam, Loco Dice, Ben Sims, Josh Wink, Ellen Alien, Miss Kittin, Carl Cox & Nicole Moudaber. He has also released original works on 50 Weapons, Ultramajic, Blueprint, Ei8ht, Figure and of course his own imprint Truncate. He has also collaborated with Jimmy Edgar, Chambray and most recently started a new project with Ben Sims as ‘Assailants’ which they’ve released on their own imprint ‘Obscurity Is Infinite’.

A rigorous international tour schedule has since followed, including stops and regular appearances at the most prestigious venues and events, including Berghain in Berlin, Fabric in London, Concrete in Paris, The Movement Festival in Detroit, Womb in Tokyo, Dimensions Festival in Croatia, Awakenings in Amsterdam, Output in New York, and many more.

With his heavy remix, production and touring schedule there is still no slowing down for David. He continues to shape an evolving sound and to champion the Los Angeles underground.
