DIY Excellence. From London To The World.

Italian composer, producer and keyboardist Giorgio Lopez was born in the pulsating Napoli of the mid ‘80s, where a deep-rooted tradition was colliding with trailblazing new energies driven by cultural icons such as Pino Daniele, Massimo Troisi, and Maradona. This vibrant mix greatly influenced his music, which reflects a duality of past-era charm and contemporary spirit. 

Growing up as a jazz-funk keyboardist in the city’s diverse musical scene, he developed a distinct style in composing and arranging, shaped by the many influences encountered along his journey. 

Six years in Geneva introduced him to the city’s rich clubbing scene and pushed him onto new musical landscapes - especially the Cosmic/Balearic movement - leading to his first two albums “Palinuro Phonebox” (2020) and “Chalet Miseno” (2022), released on Prins Thomas’ Horisontal Mambo. 

During this same period he discovered a deep love for 1980s French boogie, which inspired “Sud des Iles”, a concept album following fictional skipper Georges Taty as he composes music and sails with his crew of musicians aboard the “Sud Des Iles” sailboat. The record, which pays tribute to Giorgio’s greatest passions (sailing, the aesthetics of the late ‘80s / early ‘90s, and - of course - French boogie) will be released on May 16th on Cosmic Romance, the label of Italian-Swiss producer Ed Longo, who also co-produced the album.
