Tijn Driessen's forthcoming EP "Schijn" is his solo debut for a worldwide audience. Set to break through the noise with a terrific balance of acoustics and electronics, he finds thàt range of frequencies that drape over you like a snug blanket. Just like a welcome breeze of fresh air making its way under covers that are just too warm. 

The piano clearly characterises his music, yet he found a gracious way of implementing the sound and nature of the instrument with influences he experienced in Belgian nightlife. The result is Schijn, a comforting soundtrack with a definite sense of belonging - just like you'd expect - in a family.

Following the release of Dutch producer Djordje Petrovic aka Satori’s ‘In Between Worlds’ L.P on Underyourskin Records the imprint delivers a follow up remix package, welcoming an array of exciting producers in the world of electronic music. The Underyourskin imprint has been active since 2012 and is home to artist such as Krink, Jonas Saalbach, Schlepp Geist and Yapaac, and here we see it push on with some more intelligent and intriguing compositions.

Opening up the package is German producer Acid Pauli’s take on ‘The Whising Spell’ seeing him deliver his typically melodious and mind-bending style with sparse rhythms, arpeggio hooks and gradually unfolding synth sequences. The Micronaut’s ‘Days Without You’ remix follows and takes things into electronica realms with warbling square wave bass and broken beats layered under Miou Amadee’s soulful vocal styling’s.
Dutch duo Änimal then turn in a dropped tempo hypnotic rework of ‘Wasted feat Hugo’ next, laying the focus on subtly blooming pad lines, drawn out bass tones and bubbling percussive hits.
Berlin’s Mario Aureo switches things up into dubby realms, turning ‘We Don’t Exist’ into a dance floor workout with fluttering stab hits, a mesmeric synth hook and shuffled drum lines.
Kris Davis then rounds off the package with his interpretation of ‘Wasted feat Hugo’ delivering a charming bass driven take, employing dreamy bell chimes, elongated sub bass and expansive atmospherics.

This is the sound of celestial journeys and starlit dance floors. Deep Space Melodic House is a subgenre that transcends traditional house music, blending its hypnotic rhythms with the vast, ethereal atmosphere of the cosmos.

Imagine a journey through the dark, silent void between galaxies. This music is the soundtrack. It's built on a foundation of warm, deep kicks and subtle percussive grooves, but the focus is on the breathtaking, emotional landscape created by the synths. Transcending time and place with his emotionally charged productions, both clever in their concoctions, we get two original works on the EP - Interlude and China, from analog symphonies to pacing rhythm, each has a unique path carved out for itself, whether it’s the sophisticated and driven high of Interlude, or the heavy hypnotic euphoria that blitzes its way through China, the output on these from the dance-floor to the airwaves has been noteworthy.

To celebrate Kris Davis’s debut on Crossfrontier Audio, two of the label’s much loved staples have adapted the originals. Reacting to the energy, and pouring in his own essence, label boss Marc Poppcke’s remix of Interlude adds a drop of tentative darkness and depth to an already dangerous killer. While ricocheting through China with a melodious touch, Yoram gives us a lightshow for the synapses... firing on all cylinders.

DJs are a nomadic people. Drifting between venues, airports and hotel rooms, they’re always on the hunt for new music and clubbing activity. They are, indeed, the Bohemians of the 21st Century. Or as Britta Arnold, unders and Noraj Cue would call them: Happy Campers. 

2018 has been a magnificent year for the Happy Camper family. Much has happened since the imprint burst unto the scene with HCR001, ‘Story at the Campfire.’ Five releases further down the line, the family is bigger than ever, and the signature sound is ever more refined. This sixth EP by German favorite Iorie is another team effort. And with Sam Shure, Genii, Unders and Noraj Cue on remix duties, you know it’s set to rip floors across the globe. 

Iorie is a remarkable human being. He’s been singing, playing instruments and producing music since the tender age of 15. Inspired by his extensive travels and his many international encounters, Iorie writes cryptic lyrics, which he sings in mesmerizing ways. Happy Camper crossed his path in KaterBlau (where else) and instantly fell in love with his tantalizing vocals and sounds. 

Both the original mixes on this Less Is More EP showcase Iories exquisite ear for details, and his knowledge of musical theory. More may sound soothing at first, but you’re in for a treat as soon as the synthesizer starts ripping it. Both Sam Shure and Genii have made some excellent reinterpretations, Sam Shure adding a delicate and euphoric pads and pianos, and Genii taking it down a notch for those extra slow-burning vibes. 

Less takes you deeper into the dark night, its compelling bassline wooing you into a state of hypnosis, before hurling you back on your tippy toes again. Happy Camper head honchos unders & Noraj Cue team up for a very tribal contribution. Feel the drums resounding through your limbs, as you bounce your way to blissful oblivion.

The title track is a live recording from 2008, perfectly setting the mood for the whole EP: psychedelic shaman music with powerful oud chords and a hypnotic Middle Eastern atmosphere.

Kobza Vajk is a Hungarian self-taught psychedelic folk musician who has been playing the oud and other obscure stringed instruments, like kithara or the lute for more than 15 years. His main influences are folk and ancient music of all kinds, what brings these together is his contemporary approach of composing and the oriental technique he plays his instruments with. This release focuses on his original work from the late 2000's with a few reinterpretations coming from established e-music producers.
