"Shortly after moving to Seattle in 2014, I got my first DJ controller and would just practice in my bedroom for hours. My only previous experience came from friends in Chicago showing me the basics of deejaying and often they would let me practice on their gear. I was interested in learning how to deejay since I had accumulated such an extensive collection of music and just naturally, it felt like the next step after being a longtime radio host.  I learned the value of recording practice sessions, that way I could re-listen to the things that worked and to hear well, the things that did not work.
