As some amongst us push harder to draw lines, build walls, and separate us from one another, it remains one of the utmost import goals of musicians and curators to push back even harder in order to bring us back together. For this reason we are determined to keep a global perspective when it comes to our curation, with our previous mixes ranging from Glasgow to Brisbane. We now present an exemplification of the rich creative talent that emanates from the south with this hour of time-melting atmosphere compiled by Italian artist Kaelan aka Nico Campanella. With releases on renowned techno imprints such as Construct Re-form, CLFT, Subosc and Monnom Black, we are humbled and inspired to showcase the other side of his distinct sound.

As the lush life that surrounds us reaches it’s full maturity so does the creative fervor in our minds and in our souls. Initiating the summer edition of UNRUSH is a tremendously underrated artist based in the South of France. Kriss Kortz known as Life Recorder has been soaking deep into the collective caverns of our psyche since the mid 90’s with Detroit-tinged releases on imprints like Atmospheric Existence and Aesthetic Audio. Focusing here on the more downtempo side of his collection, he has gifted us with a truly world class excursion that is perfect for these hot summer days.

Fungal networks stretch deep underground, building connections throughout the forest and maintaining a central flow of life. Such is the relationship our next guest, Jamie McCue, has with the music scene. He is a central connector, working behind the scenes to bring artists together and showcase the very best of ambient and dub techno with his Silent Season imprint. His sound is synonymous with the lightest snow falling at the first sign of winter. It is weightless, radiant, but simultaneously as powerful as the heaviest rain. A dim light appears in the dead of winter, growing and flickering until a narrative of dark and light is born. Our next guest has mastered these icy narratives through the musical passages he constructs as Silent-One. An integral part of the From Another Mind crew out of Stuttgart, Silent-One has formed waterfalls from whispers as he continues to awe audiences with his carefully constructed DJ sets. In 2016 he launched his own label, Intimate Silence, which has since become a platform for artists such as PVNV, Głós, and Dold to explore the innermost depths of their music. In order to thaw us out from the inside, he has put together yet another hour of sonic soliloquy perfectly fitting for this frigid season. Enjoy!

Some forces are so strong they never cease to propel forward. Such is the case with our next guest, Maral Salmassi, who has re-emerged alongside her label Konsequent after a necessary hiatus. With new energy, she bursts forward with colors bright enough to paint the spring, carefully weaving together a musical tale of wonderous proportions. A backbone of European techno and electro distribution well through the 90's, she is no foreigner to the grittier ends of dancefloor antics. Here, however, she has turned inward for us, providing almost two hours of mind-mellowing melancholia. Tune in and let yourself go...

We live in a world of transmissions. In a flurry and fluster they shimmer across an ethereal plane, filling our modern world to the brim with information. Our next guest, Antenes, specializes in taking these transmissions to a new dimension with her unorthodox methods of musical composition. Utilizing vintage telephone equipment, she shapes and molds sound as if she were a sculptor. Her work on L.I.E.S., and more recently Silent Season, has been met with a resounding praise and for good reason. Antenes is the ethos of the unknown, the sound that became lost between the cracks. With her skills as a DJ parallel to her music, it was only natural that we ask her to transmit something special for UNRUSH. Enjoy!

The glitch is a modern phenomenon. First officially printed in 1962, it can be defined as a break in the algorithms that increasingly dictate our lives. Our next guest, Kamikaze Space Programme, explores these so-called "errors" with an elegant diligence. His singular sound has offered him the opportunity to release on renowned platforms such as Luke Slater's Mote Evolver imprint and West Norwood Cassette Library. With a new LP slated for Osiris Music, he takes a welcome turn into more impalpable realms, focusing his sound increasingly on dubbed-out atmospheres. In anticipation of these new directions, we decided to catch up with this one of a kind producer for a preview of what is to come. Enjoy!

hi guys!

this is my new song, 'home'! a sort of chill orchestral song i wrote. i wanted to relax this week so i wrote a relaxing song^^. i had a lot of fun writing this as i recorded a lot of stuff on my desk for the percs on this song. it was kinda inspired by jacob collier to do that. i loved experimenting with the recordings to make some cool foley stuff. this song was a cool little experience c: i hope you guys like it!
